Follow http://twitter.com/boltron for the latest I shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse. Big thanks to the folks at http://uxlondon.com for inviting me to europe to speak - if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have made the trip. Shot with a 5d2, a time-lapse controller, and a 16mm - 35mm, mixed with some iPhone shots. The music is a modified template "Gain" used with permission from DETUNE ltd. denkitribe http://soundcloud.com/denkitribe/gain - I arranged on the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Edits and pans in After Effects CS5 and iMovie. The photos during take-off and landing are all computer models and totally rendered because I would never use an electronic device when the FAA prohibits them. I did get lucky and have a whole row to myself to setup the tripod and gear. Thanks to my neighbors for not minding an SLR click every 2 to 30 seconds for 11 hours, and thanks to the whole Air France flight crew for being insanely friendly and allowing me to shoot. Thanks to @ztaylor for showing me the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Thanks to @jayzombie and the #nerdbird on the way to SXSW this year for helping me come up with the idea. Thanks to @somnabulent for the idea of live scoring. Thanks to you for actually reading this far. You are a champion.

Edited with Sony Vegas --I only had a moment to come up with a random concept and fly with it. We basically made it up from shot to shot, hehe. SUCH a great learning experience!! Thank you all who helped with this project! 95% of the actors and crew were strangers who just showed up and started...doing. hehe. www.subpop.com www.thealbumleaf.com

Check out more from Fenway Park here: http://www.tomguilmette.com/wp/my-blog/archives/2794 I shoot the Red Sox for a living in HD. I enjoy working with expensive and state-of-the-art television equipment. A few people emailed me recently and asked me if I could shoot a video blog of my very expensive HD camera that I use to shoot for the networks at Fenway Park. Well, here you go! I use a Sony HDC-910 camera head with a 75x (9.5mm to 700mm zoom 1:1.7) Canon HD lens with an optical image stabilizer. The camera head new has a retail price of $94,700.00 and that does not include the viewfinder or the lens! The lens is almost as much! The camera is mounted to a large fluid head on Miller sticks. The fluid head is the Vinten Vector 70 and I would ague that this is the best hard camera pan head ever made. I brought my PMW-EX1 to work today and during my lunch break, I shot a quick video explaining the camera the best I could. I had a million other things I had to do that day. I did not spend much time on this, but this short little film should answer the questions I was asked. Keep watching until the end. I got a shot of the moon rising over the right field seats and I think you will like it. I shot this during the game a few days ago and TV color analyst Jerry Remy even stated that it was “the best shot he has ever seen on NESN” (New England Sports Network). Now keep in mind, this shot had nothing to do with baseball or sports for that matter. Go figure. I see shots like this on the Discovery channel all the time! The moon shot I added to this video was off a dvd copy of the clip. In crappy standard def. I up-converted it to 720p in Final Cut. I did not have a chance to get a HD version yet. Email me any questions. My website is http://www.tomguilmette.com

On June 26th, 2008 I took a leap of faith and flew across the US to meet my vimeo friend Christopher. We went to the vimeo meet up in NYC, a wedding in Maryland, and a ton of other stuff. I brought my super8 camera and shot some of our journey (which involved a lot of driving). Filmed on Kodachrome Super 8 Color Reversal Film.

Running along the ridge of mt Palomar mountain "ridge soaring" - this puts roller coasters in a whole new perspective. Ridge running is based on the wind and lift coming off the top of the ridge. UPDATE - now flying brushless gimbal on the quad see the result here https://vimeo.com/66985973 The HD version is a big difference from the pocket camera, and to make it all more fun, we enjoyed the entire run and ended up in 400 feet per minute thermal lift... time to climb and play again.. Oh Yeah. My favorite place to fly gliders in California www.skysailing.com Thanks for accommodations to, www.stayonbeverly.com the Los Angeles hostel for grown up's.

2011 was an amazing year of new projects and collaborations. Already started in January with an aerial camera work for the NHK Japan television in Château-d'Oex. I filmed during the 3 days of competition all the aerial footage from the hot air balloon of John Armstrong. Followed with some amazing video projects with pilots on the airshows of Dittingen and Sion like the Bronco, the Rafale, the F/A-18 Hornet, the Captens, the Edge 540 and the Cobra of Flying Bulls . I made the trailer for the Swiss National Championship 2011 in Bex. In July I met my friends of Handiflight again and filmed the event all the week under the rain. And my biggest aviation project this year : I filmed the World Aerobatic Championships in Foligno (Italy) for the FAI in September. Beside my principal work on aviation we also filmed some beautiful firedance videos with Franziska like "Sparkling Fire", "Bright Eyes" and other FairyWings dance videos like "FairyWings in the Woods". I also used some interesting new gear this year. All the videos with Franziska were shot with my Sony NEX-VG10 or my Sony NEX-5n. After about 6 years with my Sony Z1 I work now with a Sony PMW-320 XDCAM. Working alone on airshows, running with all the video material, installing onboard video cameras, making interviews, etc... is really hard. This year I recieved a lot of help from pilots and friends and I would like especially to thank Franziska and Tahan for their great help on the tarmac around airplanes ! I would also like to thank all pilots who gave me the possibility to install my onboard cameras on their aircrafts or allowed me to use their onboard footage ! Many thanks to : Franziska Neuhaus, Saeko Konishi, Arnaud Favre, Pierrick Duvoisin, Daniel Ramseier, Sarah Ramseier, Brian Jones, Rob Rickards, Steve Derwin, Michael Amtmann, Harald Weber, Dieter Andries, Guillaume Féral, Ludovic Bejot, Martin Cotting, Jens Sternberg, Dorine Bourneton, Steve Darwin, Michel Barras, Yves Rossy, Jérôme Cusin, Emiliano Del Buono, Urs Winkelmann, Dittingen Airshow team, Xavier Buffa, Alain Bes, Tahan Pangaribuan, Marianne Shaw, Adam Shaw, Vito Wyprächtiger, Yves Heller, Blacky Schwarz, Ralph Knittel, Michaël Broccard, Jean-Marc Badan, Faustine Carrera, Andrea Artoni, Dario Costa, Irene Pasini, Cristian Giorgetti, Hanspeter Rohner, Martin Sonka, Francois Rallet, Rob Holland, Nigel Hopkins, Nicolas Ivanoff, Aude Lemordant, Svetlana Kapanina and Graham Hill.
