Follow http://twitter.com/boltron for the latest I shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse. Big thanks to the folks at http://uxlondon.com for inviting me to europe to speak - if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have made the trip. Shot with a 5d2, a time-lapse controller, and a 16mm - 35mm, mixed with some iPhone shots. The music is a modified template "Gain" used with permission from DETUNE ltd. denkitribe http://soundcloud.com/denkitribe/gain - I arranged on the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Edits and pans in After Effects CS5 and iMovie. The photos during take-off and landing are all computer models and totally rendered because I would never use an electronic device when the FAA prohibits them. I did get lucky and have a whole row to myself to setup the tripod and gear. Thanks to my neighbors for not minding an SLR click every 2 to 30 seconds for 11 hours, and thanks to the whole Air France flight crew for being insanely friendly and allowing me to shoot. Thanks to @ztaylor for showing me the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Thanks to @jayzombie and the #nerdbird on the way to SXSW this year for helping me come up with the idea. Thanks to @somnabulent for the idea of live scoring. Thanks to you for actually reading this far. You are a champion.

The clip version (3min) of the Dassault Rafale Solo Display filmed at the Breitling Sion Airshow the 15th and 16th September 2011. Many thanks to Cne Michaël Brocard for the onboard footage recorded during his flights. It's a wonderful solo display performance and with the onboard camera views, this new director's cut video gives a whole new dimension. The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engine delta-wing multi-role jet fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Introduced in 2000, the Rafale is being produced both for land-based use with the French Air Force and for carrier-based operations with the French Navy. I'm very happy with my new video gear (Sony XDCAM and Sachtler fluid head). It will take a few hours of filming to be completely comfortable with this new material after 6 years with the Sony HVR-Z1 ! Running along the ridge of mt Palomar mountain "ridge soaring" - this puts roller coasters in a whole new perspective. Ridge running is based on the wind and lift coming off the top of the ridge. UPDATE - now flying brushless gimbal on the quad see the result here https://vimeo.com/66985973 The HD version is a big difference from the pocket camera, and to make it all more fun, we enjoyed the entire run and ended up in 400 feet per minute thermal lift... time to climb and play again.. Oh Yeah. My favorite place to fly gliders in California www.skysailing.com Thanks for accommodations to, www.stayonbeverly.com the Los Angeles hostel for grown up's.

The Horsemen performance during the Flying Legends Airshow in Duxford. The Horsemen Aerobatic Team are the world’s only P-51 Mustang aerobatic team, comprising three warbird pilots who have a passion for showcasing the P-51 Mustang. The mission of The Horseman is to bring greater interest to the world of historic aviation and to remind future generations of how these powerful machines helped the Allies change the outcome of WWII. Jim Beasley serves as the Horsemen Flight Lead. In addition to the Mustang, he flies the T-6 Texan and Spitfire XVIII. Jim is also a civilian pilot for the USAF Heritage Flight program. Dan Friedkin also flies the T-6 Texan, Spitfire, Wildcat and various helicopters. The USAF recently selected Dan as a Heritage Flight civilian pilot. Ed Shipley is the founder of the group and is a long-time air show performer with more than 18 years of experience flying the T-6 Texan, P-51 Mustang, the F8F Bearcat and the F-86 Sabre. He was also one of the civilian founders of the USAF Heritage program and serves on the International Council of Air Shows’ Board of Directors. The Horsemen fly their formation aerobatic routine in 3 original P-51 Mustangs which previously served in WWII. These authentic Mustangs are owned by two of the pilots. Nearly 15,000 Mustangs were built in WWII at a cost of $50,000 each. Today, approximately 150 Mustangs remain flying at an average cost of around $2,000,000 Thank you Jim, Dan and Ed for your beautiful display, for your sympathy and your autograph on our golden pass ! A beautiful memory of Duxford ! Much of their footage can be found on www.ASB.tv Shot with a Sony HVR-Z1 in HDV. Music by Rob Dougan. Edited on FCP. Not graded. And keep checking back there for news and updates on the feature-length "Frequent Flyer", in production now, at altimtr.com/frequentflyer (you can also follow us on Twitter: @Altimtr) Don't forget to give the film a "like" on Facebook too: http://www.facebook.com/frequentflyerfilm "Frequent Flyer" is a 20-minute documentary about frequent flyer miles, the people who collect them, and the world of airports and airplanes that they inhabit. Fittingly, I traveled around 35,000 miles in the making of it, from Osaka, Japan to Punta del Este, Uruguay. The result is a look at the world of miles and some of its most enthusiastic participants, examining how miles and points have become an important world currency and, in turn, an obsession for those who have figured out ways to earn them in the millions.
