Oh well, I was very impressed by the The Leviathan Teaser, so I decided to make my own based on it with what skills I acquired so far. I didn't know where to start since this is way over my head so I just scouted out tutorials on the web. I found Allan McKay Cloud Tutorial using FumeFX which helped me big time! Now I had to learn FumeFX! :) Fun program so far! Already learning 3dsmax and Realflow. I also went through some 3dsmax animation tutorials! The animation for the ship is tricky because at first, it didn't look to scale as they say and it was all over the place! Took me a while to get it looking ok. Now what about that whaler dog? Well now I have to learn another program, so here comes along Zbrush! Numerous tutorials on how to use this program and it's very easy to learn. I'm not a modeler or artist, but it really helped me achieve a likeness to the Alien Whale. Still need to figure out the tentacles fur hair thingy! Oh well, it's a work in progress that I just started 2 days ago. The next thing I have to do is get the model into 3dsmax, rig it and animate it rising up from the clouds! I like this because it allows me to practice a wide range of 3D skills and VFX! Original soundtrack I used from The Leviathan Teaser. I'm using a macintosh computer with core-i7 4 core processor and 16 GB RAM. FumeFX is very low quality for the sake of render speed of my system. I think it was 23 sec/frame render speed. The clouds would look super if I could simulate fumefx @ higher res! I will update this as I move along with this.

Mrs Marsh lived on a perfectly average street in an average part of town. She lived alone with her husband, Mr Marsh, her children having moved away some years before. She belonged to the Women’s Institute and the local Amenities Committee and made no particular mark in either. Then one day, walking home through the park, she met alien called Picnic.

The Studio have collaborated with NBC Universal's creative department to create a campaign for the SYFY channel called 'ICONS'. The aim of the campaign is to highlight some of the iconic programming that is being shown across the channel such as, Twin Peaks, Buffy, Alien and Firefly to name a few. The concept was to set up a simple digital projection disc showing iconic images animating from the various shows. The projection disc was hung within a photographic studio cove where the letters creating the word Icons were suspended by steel wires in different positions within the space to align perfectly at the end of the ident. Bumpers were also created where an image of the shows actor(s) transitions on instead of the O. The Studio created story boards, style-frames and the final animation and CG working closely with NBC's head of on air design Mark Gouldie. The idents air March. This is an excersice we did last week on our Animation school, it is all about Anaglyph 3D Illusion. You need red-blue 3D glasses to see it, in fact it is pretty funny.
