After two weeks of rain, we had four days of sunshine, and I spent the first and last three hours of each of those days in my backyard blind, videoing the many birds other wildlife that are now calling the swamp home. It's very hard for me to leave the house right now, as there is always something exciting going on right outside the window. In order to give a better perspective, I used a 105mm lens on a second camera, and had it running much of the time I was filming with my digiscoping system. The Wood Ducks are so wary, that I have to keep a cover over my scope so they don't see my hand focusing and making camera adjustments, and I have to keep my head down behind the camera at all times. When its time to leave the blind, I call my husband on my cell phone and he comes out of the house, which scares the ducks away, and then I come out of the blind. I don't want to scare them, but I also don't want them to start thinking that it's safe to be around a blind with someone in it. Everything was shot in 4K. One system was a GH4 + 20mm/1.7 + Digidapter + Swarovski STX85; the 2nd system was a GH4 + 105mm. Everything was shot using manual focus.

A new and hopefully much improved edit of a video I posted last year. Digiscoped with two independent systems, both using GH4 cameras on Swarovski scopes, shot in 4K using manual focus. Enjoy!

This is a video I shot in Barataria Preserve. Barataria is where the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte lived with his army of "Baratarians". Lafitte is shrouded in mystery, it is easy to see why not much is know about him. He lived a life secluded away from the rest of New Orleans. Shot with Nikon D810, edited with Premiere Pro CC.

My friend Bob joined us on a gator hunt last year, but as luck would have it, he was on truck duty for our first stalk and we tagged out while he was in the truck! We only hunted about 30 minutes that night! Fortunately he drew tags for the 2014 season and invited Me, Jessie, and Joe to tag along. It was a great hunt, we got in the first gator he snagged! Watch and see how it all unfolds. This is a spot and stalk gator hunt on public south Florida land.

I got a text from your wife. It read you were ill and may not make it through the month. I called you to hear it from you. You sounded equal parts resigned and resilient. When I got off the phone, I wrote the words to this song. I want to share our story with you. As clear as the eyes of my memory can conjure. I realize last words matter to me. We don't have a close relationship. We are two men, father and son, tethered by forces beyond chance. I remember fishing, lakes, alligators, a bullfrog, strife, hidden voices and crying in the dark. So much is underwater. And I finally heard something you held quiet under your skin. "I'd sure like to be your man." Thank you.
