1. BMCC ANAMORPHIC TEST

My first ever test with an anamorphic projector lens (waiting to buy a lens or an adaptor) on my BMCC and my SAM 35 1.8. I got this lens from a friend of mine. It's a 2x Officine Galileo. Minimum focus distance (engraved on lens) is m 12 but I noticed that at m 7 I can get quite crisp images as well. The aspect ratio you get is crazy and not usable for common work, but absolutely amazing. There's no sharpening. Images got crisper due to the resize to 1920x560. I didn't have my slider, so I could only use tilt and pan (some "spheric distortion/compression" at the edges). Graded in DaVinci + Osiris Luts.

Shot with Panasonic G6, Pentax 50mm F 1.4 taking lens with a Kowa Super16mm Vidoscope anamorphic lens at the end. Mostly 24fps, with a bit of 60fps over-cranked footage. All locked off shots, graded in Davinci Resolve. Footage is a bit boring, but this was my first try. I did not crop or de-squish the 1:2 anamorphic image all the way, it is around a 2.60:1 aspect, as I liked a bit of stretch left in it, even though it is not technically correct!

This is my first acceptable test with an anamorphic lens. The images are very nice and it surprised me a lot. The actual size is 3648 x 1080 px ! which is a huge size with a range 1.9 squeeze. This creates a real cinematic look with a narrow aspect ratio. To upload on vimeo I use a 1920 x 568 px export.
