Close-up view of a neuron, and the many synapses from neighboring neurons transmitting electro-chemical signals to its cell body. Once full action potential is reached, the individual neuron fires and carries out the signaling process, down its axon, to other neurons. In reality, each neuron has anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 synapses. Sound Design by Alex Fulton of Storefront Music, NY. Alex was behind the amazing sound design for our Gatorade [Science of G] animations and we asked for his take on this piece as well.
