Quiet Days in Copenhagen. In 2007 our first full video came out. The title was inspired by Henry Miller's novel "Quiet Days in Clichy" (adapted by legendary Danish Filmmaker and artist Jens Jørgen Thorsen). Much like the novel our days were not quiet at all. We spend two years skating, touring, and filming while doing everything we skateboarders do to keep us from going insane dealing with the pressure of filming and trying to land tricks. But the quiet days were also fun days and we still share the stories from those times gone by. If you haven't seen this video before then please enjoy the skateboard talents of: Nis Andersen Danni Andreassen Johan Foppa Forsberg Simon Pedersen Mischa Gundman Joshua Angel Fabrin Henrik Saldert Anton Juul Hjalte Halberg Emil Hvilsom Tobias Lynge Andreas Pedersen Laurent Hervé Gehin They were all once oh so young. Filmed and edited by Frederik Bengtsson

We imagine that inner cities that are currently banning cars through taxation or tolls to relieve congestion will simply become driverless rather than car-less. Driverless cars will combine individual mobility outside city limits with collective mobility within, as self driven cars move in coordinated concert with their fellow commuters they occupy a quarter of the space human-driven cars require. As the new generation of cars will additionally be noiseless and pollutionless it will mean the end of the apartheid that currently separates cars from pedestrians and bicyclists for comfort, health or safety reasons. The result is an elastic urban space that can expand and contract to accommodate peak traffic hours or allow a park or plaza to invade the car lanes to fit the demands and desires of its citizens. from BIG Added 1,654 9 0

We propose to consolidate all Danish harbor traffic into a strategically located Superharbour, creating a new gate to the Baltic Sea markets and a new industrial growth zone joining CoMa (Copenhagen-Malmø), HamBrem (Hamburg-Bremen) and BeNeLux (Belgium-Netherlands-Luxemburg) into one continuous belt of economic growth. The new Superharbour will be located on the soon-to-be-built Femern bridge between Denmark and Germany at the optimum intersection of north-south traffic between Scandinavia and Europe and east-west traffic between the New Europe and the rest of the world. The Superharbour will liberate 20 billion euros worth of prime real estate in Denmark’s 12 biggest cities for new forms of urban life, allowing the cities to consolidate their growth where people want to live, rather than scattering ever more suburban developments on the urban peripheries. Scala Tower's starting point is in the historical Copenhagen tower which is made up of two basic principles: a base that relates to the urban space and life unfolding near the building, and a slim steeple that reaches towards the sky and becomes part of the Copenhagen Skyline. As such, our design of the Scala tower grows out of the context with a starting point in the volumes and cornice heights of the neighbouring buildings. The Seven Peaks of Azerbaijan is a master plan for a Zero Energy leisure city on Zira Island situated within the Caspian Sea. Located within the crescent shaped bay of Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, Zira Island is designed to be a sustainable model for urban development, and an iconographic skyline recognizable from the city’s coastline. As a young post-soviet democracy, Azerbaijan is rediscovering its national identity, The Seven Peaks of Azerbaijan proposes an architectural landscape derived from its natural landscape. The mountains are conceived not only as metaphors, but engineered as entire eco-systems, a model for future sustainable urban development. Music by Mikkel Metal www.myspace.com/mikkelmetalmusic

The RÉN building is a proposal for a hotel, sports and conference centre for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The building is conceived as two buildings merging into one. The first building, emerging from the water, is devoted to the activities of the body, and houses the sports and water culture centre. The second building, emerging from land, is devoted to the spirit and enlightenment and houses the conference centre and meeting facilities. The two buildings meet in a 1,000 room hotel and form the Chinese character for the word “People”, becoming a recognizable landmark for the World Expo in China. Music by Mikkel Metal www.myspace.com/mikkelmetalmusic Together the two buildings become a tower and an arch at once. The arch creates a square for gatherings and activities, exactly on the main axis of the Expo site overlooking the Huang Pu River. The square is sheltered from the rain but allows the sunlight through, from east in the morning and from west in the evening. Large curved plazas cover the pool and conference buildings, creating a continuous recreational public space along the river. Round openings and roof lights bring light to the auditoriums and pools and become gradually denser as they rise from the river, eventually becoming glittering windows and terraces for the hotel rooms.
