1. Away We Go: South Africa

    from Anthropologie Added 5,616 10 0

It's not always easy to impress our catalog team; finding and exploring the most beautiful nooks of the world is part of their job, after all. But after shooting our May Lookbook in South Africa, even these professional globetrotters were awestruck by the winding vineyards, the sun-swathed animal sanctuary and the sparkling, blue-bright coast. After watching this footage, we’re actually surprised they left the penguins and returned to the Home Office! (Now, um, please excuse us—we have a quick headcount to do.)

See some of my illustrations: http://daughtersofdreamsong.deviantar... Sometimes, the best medicine is love :3 Personal notes: This is the second (relatively speaking) substantial animated thingy that I've done for myself. Often times I find myself coming up with lots of ideas, only to end up intimidated by my strange assertion that I'm not going to do the project justice. This time I promised myself that I'd finish the project no matter how it ended up. While not the greatest animation ever created by the hands of humanity, I like my little movie. I feel more confident in my abilities, and I'm going to go ahead and take a stab at progressively bigger projects. Ultimately my goal is to create media that both inspires people and makes them feel good. I'll do my best. No promises though.

It's no secret how much we heart our hometown, so when Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back, came around on December 2, 2014, we jumped at the chance to take part. That day, more than 150 Anthropologie employees volunteered at nonprofits based in the Philadelphia area, including the PSPCA, Project HOME, the Vetri Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, Philabundance, ArtSphere, Inc. and others. Together we lent a hand to all manner of projects—from sorting food to cleaning dog kennels to painting murals for the Adaire School in the city's Fishtown neighborhood. We couldn't have asked for a more unforgettable and worthy cause to cap off the year, particularly during the holiday season, and we're already looking forward to participating again in 2015! Nothing makes us feel more fancy-fine than springtime, thanks to warmed-up weather, daylight that exceeds a 40-hour workweek and, best of all, the riveting romance of a world in bloom. In anticipation of spring's arrival (any day now, Mother Nature!), we're adding a dash of flora to spruced-up cocktails that we'll sip and sniff with equal relish. Delicate as the season's first flourish, these petal-infused aperitifs illuminate the elegance of classic spirits. First up? An invigorating French 75 with a marigold twist, inspired by our March Lookbook.
