"Manufacturing Paradise: An instruction manual" Short film #1: Nordelta's Northern Entrance [first cut, subtitles coming soon] This short film is part of an ongoing PhD Research in Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths, University of London. Its purpose is not to operate as a standalone piece but rather as part of an upcoming multilayered ethnographic website. The research is set in Nordelta, the largest and most populated of Argentina’s gated communities. However, it does not have the intention of providing an ethnographic account of the lifestyles, rhythms and practices, nor a comprehensive account of its residents. Instead it aims at exploring the production and reproduction of its boundaries, recognizing the menaces that threaten them, the multiple mechanisms that have been created to deal with different sources of danger and contamination, and the existent procedures that are set in motion to purify the community -and the space- when it gets defiled. Thus, this research conceptual guidelines relate to issues of sovereignty, class and community as territorialized but permeable concepts. #2 concentrates on Nordelta's northern entrance, where the commercial area is located. Goldsmiths, University of London. COLOR | STEREO | 11’16” | MiniDV | 2010

A video by Max Carocci and Simona Piantieri Full credits at the end of the video Video length: 22:09 Written Out of History blends historical facts with accounts of the forgotten legacy of Native American slavery told by indigenous scholars and anthropologists. Originally shot on location in North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, this artistic documentary reconstructs for the first time on camera the events that led to the erasure of indigenous forced labour from the annals of history. Given the extent of the subject, we are planning a WHO part two for which we are currently seeking funds. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Documentary selected for: 2011- Humanity Explored Film Festival (Australia-India) 2011- Portobello Film Festival (London, UK) 2011- Native Spirit Festival (London, UK) 2011- Viscult Festival (Finland) 2012- Indianer Inuit Film Festival (Germany) ------------------------------------------------------------------ FAN PAGE: http://www.facebook.com/pages/London-United-Kingdom/Simolab-Creative-AV/334205980764
