Portaali is a site specific architectural installation in collaboration with the experimental sounds of Ethan Eunson-Conn and part of Superfront Public Summer. As it clings to the existing building infrastructure, Portaali masquerades as the missing wall while displaying scenarios of future possibilities. SPECIAL THANK YOU to John Hartmann and Lauren Crahan of Freecell, who helped facilitate the project. Thank you for contributing valuable expertise, technical help, and fabrication time to make the project happen. ADDITIONAL THANK YOU to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to the project: Tak Cheung Lucky DeBellevue Jennifer Endozo Jake Ewert Inti Rojanasopondist Taylor Sams Thomas Sheridan Mitch McEwen Taylor Wozniak

Embrace the excitement: in the architecture, in the people, and in the design process. Architecture begins with an idea, an idea that evolves. It is a collaboration where a studio works as one. It is a convergence of thoughtful visions. A first impression evolves into analyzing into questioning into understanding into designing into constructing into experiencing. New impressions are perceived throughout this entire transformation. This process enables one to see beyond, to see the inherent beauty of an idea becoming reality. It is an imaginative yet sincerely authentic experience. The pavilion's grand opening will be on the afternoon of Saturday August 13, 2011, near the West entrance to the park. http://studioberlin.org/2011/ Soundscape: Edith Progue "10 A.M." Timeline

from Jesus Eduardo Magaña Added 9 0 0

A multi-perceptual experience of consciousness through a storefront A perceptual ‘object’ can be defined as a spatio-temporal coincidence of its different attributes: for example, an object could be a large, red, moving square. If the different attributes occur, in different places, can they still define an object? And, would it still be defined the way it is normally perceived? Art challenges this perception, it is the individual mind that binds these attributes into our mere perception. The installation focuses on an evident parallel of what happens with our conscious recognition when objects are not perceived in the "spatio-temporal coincidence" way.
