Art and mathematics, what do they have in common? Everything! Many techniques used by artists, come directly from mathematics: dimensions, proportions, perspective, and so on. The theme of De Grote Rekendag 2015 is 'maths of the arts in the classroom' and focuses on mathematics: patterns, symmetry, measuring, it's all covered. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is a partner of the Grote Rekendag 2015. (See http://groterekendag.nl/) This video was made for De Grote Rekendag in collaboration with the University of Utrecht and Malmberg, and is about perspective in art.
