Our latest original painting, part of our Motivational Street Sign series, it's the fifth in that series. We decided to document our process since it's a bit unique in one major aspect. dfrnt is composed of two married artists collaborating on art under a single name, that's not evident when staring at a finished piece so we thought this might help clear it up. We can go into much more here as to the whys and hows, but just enjoy the video for now.

A wearable audio sculpture by Emily Biondo made of knit speaker wire. The sound is cast at a whispered level through small speakers in the collar of the work. The piece is knit in the traditional semblance of a Christian prayer shawl, and emits audio of collected prayers of care and concern from a number of world religions.

There are so many wonderful experiences being a father. Today was no exception. My 3-1/2 year old handed me a haphazardly wrapped box. Inside, was a painting he made and a story that went along with it. It is said that pictures are worth a thousand words. In this case, words are the equally worth the same weight in gold. He is an inspiration to me, full of fun and imagination.

Lin de Mol Origin In her films Lin de Mol zooms in on what is stirring under the surface. That which is inward is translated into images and sounds. Her approach is almost phenomenological. Even the smallest details – an insect walking across the sand, the fuzz on a stalk of grass – are portrayed with care. Large or small, there is no rank or hierarchy: everything is part of the same cosmic system. The atmospheric work Origin is dedicated to Lena Lee, the artist's daughter. The film has the flow and softness of a lullaby. Man and nature are linked in this sensitive, surreal work. The ostrich reminds us of the toddler's recent arrival in the world. The little girl feels free in the vastness of the desert, making contact with the earth and playing with the elements. The child lets sand run between her fingers and throws it into the air. The sea floods across the barren land, the wind whispers, grass grows in the arid desert soil. The cycle of life goes round. Lena Lee steps into the world. for more information: www.lindemol.com
