            • Ik Ek Ekk - The sound of Taekkyon

              from Yann Kerloc'h / Added

It's a video I made in France, about the korean martial Taekkyon, taught there by two french teachers who lived in Korea. I filmed it originally for a contest whose rule was to do a 5 minutes video related to Korean culture. Then I made on purpose something easy to watch, giving clear explanations, but I've also enhanced the artistic part of the Taekkyon, finding it was also some music, revolving around a strange sound... Filmed with Canon 550D.

                      from The Astburys / Added

Two twins, who look a lot like each other, decided to see who was best at being a ringmaster. A surreal, vivid construction of movements, captured on Super 8 depicting a competitive and at times vicious streak of a female.

Archive sound surprises archive image in its play with repetition, mirroring or opposing the image. An exploration of coded choreography, with particular attention paid to the female form re-telling the male domain of a ringmaster.
