June 2011. A split screen short film adaptation of the theater play "Sure Thing" by David Ives. It depicts a conversation, and the many directions it could go. Actors: Alexandra Morra & Isaac Skinner. Cinematography by: Daniel Pennington & Michael Smith. Directed and Edited by: Daniel Pennington. Special Thanks: Katie Hennessey, Gerson Bradford, Tara Endicott, & Burlap and Bean Coffee. Cameras: Canon 5D Mark II & Canon 60D. Shot in monochrome for a complete black and white workflow. Idea for splitscreen came from the fact that when viewing a stage play, one can look at any actor at any time.

The film will be getting a sneak peek screening on June 17th 2011 at the Viz Cinema theater in San Francisco and was shot completely on the Canon 7D. Marc Benheimer, an introverted 17-year-old boy, feels like he doesn’t belong. Growing up in the emotional wasteland of his family, relief comes from a pair of headphones and music. When his controlling father brings home a limited edition grand piano that’s to be looked at and not touched, Marc yields to temptation. What he discovers is more than just the feel of ivory against his fingers and a hidden talent––he finds the strength to shake his family from their dysfunctional slumber. for more information, videos, pictures, updates, and more follow us on facebook: facebook.com/nuclearfamilymovie website: dominicmercurio.com/nuclearfamily
