    • Rainbow Fish - ADR Project.

      from Mike Bahuaud Added

A project, where we were given a script, a folder loaded with audio takes, musical score, and sound effects for the episode. The end result is this project, where each vocal take had to be realigned, sound effect timed and orchestral piece added properly to suit the scene. The entire project was just short of 10 minutes, but i've removed the intro of 50 seconds as it was a single audio file and took no effort to match.

              • Kung Fu Foley - Foley Recording Project

                from Mike Bahuaud Added

This was my teams first Foley recording and Design project. Given a small Kung Fu clip, we had to choose our props, microphones, recording techniques, and method's of execution. From beating up raw steaks with stiff leather gloves, to fully body drops on hardwood foley stages. The project concept was not that of level's or mixing for theatre, it was specifically just designing sound and foley recording.

                • Sister Hyde - TMI - Band Recording Project 2015

                  from Mike Bahuaud Added

An entire band recording project for college. From setting up all the mics, cable running, to patching was done by our small class of 8. Starting off our project was the bed tracks session. The entire band was in house, and the drums were on the main stage for the recording process. We discussed with the group their inspiration behind the motivation for their music. Alice Cooper being the forefront of inspiration, they’ve taken influence from the New York Dolls, The Stooges, and encouraged a dark, modern contemporary flavor on their music. Day two, and three, were the recording bass, acoustic, and leader guitar’s for three of the four chosen songs. The student’s rigged boom and claw mic setups for the acoustics guitars, amps and direct injection recordings. Using a variety of microphones, from Sm57’s to NT2000’s, and using varying pattern types. I had kept the electric guitar in the forefront, panning take 1 to the left and take 2 to the right for a widened stereo image. There was only small parts with the lead guitar in it, so I gave it a mid-side spread technique on it and some minor delay to top it off. On the drums, I had replaced the original 2 mic kick recordings with a single sample I had in my library of recorded drum breaks.. It felt more punchy, dry, airy, but fuller than what was originally used. The room mics were turned up quite high, to reinforcement the live rock sound I was hoping to achieve in the center spectrum. All drums were parallel compressed, through a single McDSP compressor. Although each individual track was EQ’d differently, of course. Vocals were all bussed into a single auxiliary, where they were de-essed, EQ’d compressed, as a whole instead of individually. A second send was added for reverb reinforcement at a very small percentage of reverb Type's of microphones used: Rode NT2000 Shure SM57's Sennheiser 604's Sennheiser 421's Sennheiser 609's Rode NT5's CAD 179's Apex 190's Neumann TLM 301's Neve vintage 24 channel console patched to Digidesign C24 console for ProTools HD
