'Stories For The Starlit Sky' (3 of 3) In August 2011, Daniel Kitson and Gavin Osborn gave a magical midnight secret gig in The Forest Cafe, Edinburgh. The Forest Cafe was a volunteer run independent artspace masquerading as a vegetarian cafe. It was in danger of losing its home in Bristo Place and during the Festival, artists from all over gave secret gigs to celebrate what a wonderful, messy, awesome place it was. The Cafe closed on August 31 2011. Temp-o-rarily.

Photos were taken on Hatteras Island, NC prior to hurricane Irene. The sun still shines there, the Ocean roars and rumbles, and the sands of the beach are like time, always fluid. What a wonderful and beautiful place. I've gone there every summer for most of my life and it's through my heart that I see it. 1/12/2012 farewell to Alexis Wissenberg...the beauty of his music will be missed.

August was good times up at Snow Park. With sunny skies and competitions on the daily we had several overseas riders drop in. Have a watch and see the likes of Zak Hale, Danny Davis, and Mark McMorris smash laps alongside NZ local shredders Liam Ryan, Connor Harding, Hamish Martin, and Jay Walsh to name a few. Nelson Street in Bristol city centre was closed for a week this summer, and international graffiti artists invited to make it Europe's largest outdoor art gallery. DJ's entertained spectators as different styles of artwork decorated the once-dull walls. I grew up in Bristol and doubt I have ever looked up in this street. On the Saturday two weeks after the project was finished, the street had become a tourist attraction, with people of all ages stopping to gawp and take pictures. All our cities should look like this.
