ON THE LAND WE LIVE Myanmar is a country where 70% of the population are small-holder farmers. As the reform process continues, land conflict has emerged at the center of the political debate. The country is being coveted as the final investment frontier in South East Asia, with abundant fertile agricultural land as one of its most valuable assets. Despite assurances from the Government that farmers will be at the forefront of economic reforms, to date land laws and policies have failed to protect them. The film was produced for the Land Core Group, a Yangon based land advocacy group by Third Sector Films.
