DeCantillon Films and Gaffer Tape Productions shot "The Only One Who Knows You're Afraid" in 2011 on a budget of £5,000 in association with North Yorkshire County Council. Starring Austin Hardiman, Eddie Usher, Baz Armstrong and Willem van Hemmstra, the adventure is based upon the remarkable events following the 1942 British Commando Raid of the Nazi-held French port of Saint Nazaire. The film was entirely shot on location in Saint Nazaire and the surrounding area with the invaluable assistance of the local population, La Commune de Mesquer-Quimiac and Le Parc Naturel Regional de Briere. The film begins with an outstanding narration from late BAFTA nominated legend Richard Briers ("The Good Life" and "Monarch of the Glen"). James G. Dorrian, author of a number of books detailing the Raid, wrote the introduction and worked alongside veterans of the Raid as Historical Consultant. James worked in a similar capacity in Jeremy Clarkson's BBC documentary about the Raid, "The Greatest Raid of All Time". Screenwriter Michael Chaplin ("Foyle's War", "Monarch of the Glen", "Robin Hood") assisted director Timothy Reynard and writer Oliver Welsh with the screenplay. Notable dialect coach, Clifford De Spenser ("X-Men: First Class", "Clash of the Titans", "The Constant Gardener") assisted Austin Hardiman with his French dialogue. The premiere of "The Only One Who Knows You're Afraid" took place at ODEON Harrogate in September 2011 and was attended by Dr. Bill 'Tiger' Watson who was one of the brave Lieutenants who fought in the Raid.
