"Himali Hawale" is the name of a Nepali hymn. Himali Hawale means: from the Himalayan Winds. The chorus of the hymn says: "From the Himalayan winds, the good news is proclaimed to this beautiful country." This is the second video documenting 9 months spent as student missionaries in Nepal. For the second half of the year we did a lot more village outreach in the form of painting churches, leading youth groups, and helping with health and evangelism meetings. We did a good bit of work at Esa Memorial School, but we were not teaching classes for the second half of the year. To cap the year off, we spent a couple weeks in Khumbu region. A famous basketball player once said “Go for the moon. If you don't get it, you'll still be heading for a star.” At Kavre school for the deaf in Banepa (Nepal) Himalayan Care Hands is providing laptops, internet and English lessons. In 2011 the project started where deaf children are learning, playing and sharing with special OLPC laptops. We learned that English language still constitutes a major problem in understanding and communicating for which now English class is established, an unique pilot with sign language and written English. The progress children make is remarkable and in february 2012 they got a special 'encouragement' certificate to reward and foster their participation and motivation in the continuing program. Watch the special videoreport in our 8 mins update where children and teachers organized an overwhelming program for their guests from far Holland.
