"WHAT DEGAS MIGHT HAVE DONE" is an in-depth, comparative treatise on the Kelsey Bronzes , those of Edgar Degas and other master sculptors,by leading Fine Art Appraiser & Fine Art Historian and "Artnet" founder: Peter Hastings Falk. "This essay proposes that if Degas is accepted as the undisputed master painter of dance-- specifically ballet--- then the subject's undisputed master sculptor is Sterett-Gittings Kelsey" It has taken several generations to produce a new "Master of Movement". Kelsey has captured the complex movements of dance in bronze with an unsurpassed beauty and grace. Choreographically correct, these masterworks are already a part of of the Art World's Aristocracy.

A stop-motion animation done with a puppet. It references dance moves performed by Mikhail Baryshnikov in the opening dance sequence for the movie, White Nights (1985). Trying to achieve a dimly lit studio space for a nighttime scene was the most difficult part because I was working with 300W Arri lights. I probably should've just gotten some little lamps from home, but then I wouldn't have been able to put them on the stands and wouldn't have had the option of barn doors. www.hannahinouye.com Student project for ANIM 713, Drawing in Motion Rotoscoping exercise Professor Silva SCAD, Spring 2011
