Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Friday, April 13, 2012 The 2012 Festival was fortunate to present a dynamic array of films about artists. When the art form in question is not filmmaking, how do you translate that medium for film? How do you portray the sometimes delicate relationships between an artist and their subject in the film? How does the dynamic continue to develop when they both become subjects of your film? Panelists include filmmakers: Neil Berkeley, BEAUTY IS EMBARRASSING; Angad Singh Bhalla, HERMAN'S HOUSE; Andrew Garrison, TRASH DANCE Moderator: Lucia Small, MY FATHER, THE GENIUS About: Full Frame is proud to present the A&E IndieFilms Speakeasy for the second year in 2012. The venue hosts a number of panel conversations over the course of the annual festival that are free and open to the public. The Speakeasy offers a casual, intimate setting where a small audience can listen to industry leaders take on topics that are at the heart of the documentary community today.

Mimi Pond, Wayne White's wife, illustrated a comic that appears in the documentary Beauty Is Embarrassing, a film produced by Future You Pictures and Directed by Neil Berkeley. I was working at BRKLY and was excited to contribute something to such a fantastic movie. These hand drawn illustrations were stripped apart and animated. It was really fun giving life to these drawings- and what was really interesting was the fact that when I was finished, I really felt as if I knew these people. Wayne White came through the door one day and I said hello to him like I've known him for years.
