This is an overview of Pat and Baiba Morrow's new iBook, “Heart of the Himalaya” and step by step tutorial to help you explore its multi touch, muti media features bungalobooks.com/featured-books/heart-of-the-himalaya/itunes-links-himalaya/ After a 35 year span meeting and photographing the people who live in the greatest mountain range on earth, Pat and Baiba have produced their most extensive photographic tribute to the region. If you have a love affair with the amazing cultures of the Himalaya, their Heart of the Himalaya iBook for Apple’s stunning iBook platform contains 170 alluring images from Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, northern India, northern Pakistan and China’s Xinjiang and Sichuan provinces. The pictorial “coffee tablet” book also includes travel diary excerpts, a chronology of their three years accumulation of Himalayan journeys (which includes six mountaineering expeditions for Pat, three of them on 8000-m peaks, a 10,000-km overland journey around the Himalaya, part of it along Asia’s Silk Road — 1,000 km of it by bicycle —and an 80-day trek from Annapurna to Everest that tallied 40,000 metres of ascents and descents) , and a resource section especially useful to trekkers. This iBook is best viewed on an iPad, (view the book in landscape orientation, not portrait, in order to get the same effect that you've seen in this video) but also readable on a Mac with the latest OS.

Travel highlights of our "guy's trip" to Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh in August 2014. Almost impossible to capture the sights, sounds, faces, and emotions of such amazing and uniquely different countries. Bangladesh almost didn't happen, but fortunately we decided to turn our layover into a memorable couple of days. Thank you Andy and Damion (and of course to our wives for letting us go). At times we really felt like we were teetering on the edge of the earth - whether it was at the Tiger's Nest in Bhutan or when cruising the Buri Gange river in Dhaka. Truly epic and unforgettable!
