I simply had to make this video after meeting "James" a very enigmatic man who has taken it upon himself to collect one bicycle from each developmental epoch for future generations to enjoy , a kind of time capsule if you will ! Commercial-kind film about the essence of fixed-gear bicycle, most commonly known as fixie. In the early in the history of bicycle, fixed-gear bicycle remained the standard track racing design, now this had become a popular alternative among mainly urban cyclists, offering the advantages of simplicity vs. standard multi-geared bicycles. · Everything shot with the BMPCC (RAW) with Lumix G X 14-42mm f3.5 using a homemade gyro-stabilizer. - There's any stabilization in post. · Color correction: Simply applied the same rule as timelapses, as Resolve won't work fluidly in the majority of computers. Being the dailies chosen, I used Lightroom 5 for the DNGs, edited one shot and copied the same to the rest of the sequence. I mostly based on some VSCO pressets/LUTs to give a special look to each shot and then adjusted to the right amount and final colors. All this, were exported to 16bit TIFF, and opened as a sequence in Quicktime Pro to finally have a Proress HQ file. Some grain was added later in Premiere with Film Convert. · Graphic design by Javi Garcia. cargocollective.com/javigarcia · Music by Resotone - What never was Thanks to Eric Rodriguez and Andreu Sancho for the ride!! © www.bernateguiluz.com

Protected bike lanes are the latest approach US cities are taking to help their residents get around by bike. But these protected lanes lose their buffer separation at intersections, reducing the comfort and safety for people riding. What the protected bike lane needs is the protected intersection. This proposal for the George Mason University 2014 Cameron Rian Hays Outside the Box Competition presents a vision for a safe, clear intersection design that improves conditions for all users. Proper design of refuge islands, crossing position and signal timing can create a safe intersection that people of all ages and abilities would feel safe in.
