      • TriMet Driver Does Not Yield Right of Way

        from Paula Funatake Added 83 1 3

Seems like TriMet should have on-going training and certification. Just because you put your signal on, does not mean you have absolute right of way over cyclists, who are already in the bike lane. One reason I am not a big fan of absolute bike lanes. I was traveling west on NE Glisan on a slight downhill at speed. This is shot at 170 FOV, so the bus is closer than it appears. Thankful to the car driver who left space for me to veer out left and pass the bus.

Playing with synching 2 videos recorded simultaneously on my bike commute. I have a V.I.O. HD POV mounted on the stem and a GoPro Hero 2 HD mounted low on the seat stay eyelets. This video is made up of clips from two different commuting days. It has been fun seeing what was behind me, things I don't always see since my focus is where I am going, not necessarily where I have been.

Can't miss out on "bike to work" week! This is my work commute from Decatur to Atlanta. 8 mile ride usually takes me about 40 minutes. By car it's usually 25-30 minutes. By MARTA train it's 45. Lots of options and I'm still pretty new to the bike commute stuff - great for Spring and Fall, but Summer storms may find me slackin'.
