"It’s been over 100 years since Dr. August September, a cardiologist and astrophysicist, discovered The September Zone. Dr. September threw sand into The Zone to test The Zone’s stability. After the particles of sand transformed into a mirror, Dr. September disappeared." - From the Preface to "Helpful Tips for NOVICE Usage of MECHANICAL BIRDS." Where is Dr. September now? What happens inside The Zone? Follow Jonothon Jackson Quick, an investigative journalist and medicine sleuth, as he finds the clues, and solves the mystery. Or does he? Filled with anecdotal humor and anarchic whimsy, detective work has never been this non-lulling. Excruciatingly painful belly and frontal lobe aches induced by side splitting laughter and contemplative reasoning await! "It's a very serious and important work of fiction, while at the same time exceedingly inane." - A Future Reviewer's Comment Available as a Kindle® eBook at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Helpful-NOVICE-Usage-MECHANICAL-BIRDS-ebook/dp/B00RDX7M7Q

This slide show features a Northern Mockingbird, who is a returning guest to my terrace.* I call him Harper, after the novel, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” written by Harper Lee. All the images in the slide show were taken from February 13, 2015 through February 16, 2015 when I participated in the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC). During that time period the temperatures were at record lows, and the wind gusts at record highs, which had impact on the behavior of birds that were able to forge the elements and visit my garden.
