"We had been playing cat and mouse for months. We attended the same shows in Paris, talked a little, mentioning maybe we could do something together... to then see them leave, become huge, and even more intriguing, elusive. It took eight months for this Take Away Show to happen, for them to be free just one afternoon despite their super busy Hollywoodian schedule. And then, what ? Be one hundred percent cliché, but how ? Exaggerate the origins of a band that became famous abroad ? Or maybe go and film them where they earned the success they now have ? And then we thought about this funny video the band posted on July 14th on their blog, where they play "1901" with an awful iChat wallpaper as a background. Eh, why don't we do it again, but for real this time ?" A trip across Paris in a van. Lost drumsticks. A cafe you'd never expect to visit before the age of 60. An hour of waiting, and then, voilà--a few notes on the harmonium, a grand piano, a heavenly voice. Sigur Ros on a Take Away Show. http://www.blogotheque.net/Sigur-Ros,4783 Une traversée de Paris en van.

This is the very first music video done entirely on Instagram without any third party alterations. Every single frame of this music video is an actual picture that we ran through Instagram. We never shot any video. We only shot still photography. All 1905 pictures went through the normal Instagram process on an iPhone. We hope you like it! "It's a weird game going on between the band and the place where they play. A mesmerizing Eiffel Tower or Trocadero usually steal the show with their size and more or less spectacular tricks, but here's a band no one would expect to find there, competing with all those crowd-pullers. (...) One catch: after soundcheck the day before, Tallest Man’s guitars were locked inside the NYC music venue, Town Hall, where he’d be playing later that night with Bon Iver. Solution: we’d have to shoot somewhere with a decent supply of guitars that he might borrow. A fan of music of all kinds, Jeff, the awesome, museum-quality proprietor of the legendary Music Inn on West 4th Street in Greenwich Village was happy to oblige. It was on an October night, in Paris. We went to a pub, made some noise outside with a German band. Kele, Bloc Party's singer, went out. We asked him to sing. He said no. We asked again, he said 'yes but'. Then, we asked again... Here it is, just one song, an old song, played acoustic for the first time. From Bloc Party, a Take Away Show. "For days we were searching for hangars, warehouses and big empty loft spaces. We got the opposite : it was incongruous, it was bloody exciting. We were going to shoot Battles in a rococo style lounge in The Hotel de Ville, the magnificent city hall and mayor’s office in the centre of Paris."
