Description: A person joined to a mobile EEG is the source feeding mind machines probands are connected to. Different frequencies depending on real time EEG output hit the probands in form of pulsing light and sound. Binaural beats are transmitted via individual headphones and goggles softening the common light source. First experiment at "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2011", FU Berlin Project by: Christopher Pietsch, Luis Grass, Michael Härtel developed in the course"Messing with our Minds" supervised by Willy Sengewald, Matti Gärtner © 2012 University of Applied Sciences Potsdam

Solder cool stuff! Make things! Mitch Altman came to MadLab and gave one of his famous workshops. Mitch has taught thousands of people to solder and make cool things with microcontrollers – at workshops, hacker spaces, hacker conferences and schools. Featuring: TV-B-Gone (turn off TVs in public places!) Brain Machine (meditate, hallucinate, and Trip Out!) LEDcube (cool cube of blinky lights!) Mignonette Game (play fun games!) Trippy RGB Waves (interactive coloured blinky lights!) MiniPOV (more cool blinky lights!) MintyBoost (charge your USB enabled gadgets!) Microcontroller programmers (programme all your AVR family chips!)

In 2011, we interviewed many of the top people working in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) research. We hope these videos, and other materials on Future BNCI website (future-bnci.org), will help to inform the public about BCIs. This interview was taken during Future BNCI Workshop, 15th of June, Barcelona, Spain. Interviewer Dr. Brendan Z. Allison Photography and Editing Anna Sanmartí Dr. Aleksander Väljamäe

In this video, various members of the Tokyo hacker space 4nchor5 la6 ( Anchors lab, http://456.im ) try on Mitch Altman's trip glasses ( formerly know as the brain machine ). The glasses have flashing LEDs and audio synced at certain frequencies to induce different mind states. We all tried them on and were pretty amazed and yes they are very trippy. You can see various swirling patterns, shapes and movements which are all created by your visual cortex. I'm definitely getting myself a pair. Mitch will be demonstrating how to make them at the Make fair in Hachioji this weekend.
