A spaceship crashed into Earth, no crew, no passangers. The tech is beyond what they have seen in their year of 2075, but it spills waste all over the planet, launching it into expedited global warming. The crew of the Queen Mary Explorer Craft is sent out to find new worlds humanity can live on, but nobody knew it would tie in like this... In this video press release, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson) discusses the Legislature's recent action to restore a tax credit benefiting working New Jersey families. The bill (A-4602) increases the state Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to 30 percent of the federal credit after years of Christie administration cuts to the successful anti-poverty program. The governor reduced the tax credit to 20 percent of the federal credit from 25 percent in his first budget in 2010, effectively raising taxes on low-income families by $45 million, and failed to restore it in subsequent years. Some 528,000 taxpayers received an average state EITC benefit of approximately $430 during FY 2010, according to federal and state data. As the nation's largest anti-poverty program, the EITC has substantially reduced child poverty and increased incentives to work.

It can’t be all about the money. If we gauge our national success solely on a growing economy, we reduce our vision of what’s needed for New Zealanders to thrive. Growth matters for New Zealand’s economic future, but we need an expanded view of what’s important for our economy and our society. Here, the speakers for Maxim Institute's Beyond Profit event, Hon Bill English and Maxim Institute's Nathan McLellan, respond to questions relating to their respective presentations, gathered from the audience at our Auckland event.
