Carl Servais is a father of two, a busy architect with TLCD Architecture and in his spare time, he serves as the 2015 president of AIA Redwood Empire (AIARE). He also is dedicated to giving back to the community and helped to organize a Habitat for Humanity build this January in Cotati, California. The crew made up of volunteers from AIARE and TLCD Architecture worked all day but this video has them moving pretty fast!

I did a time lapse with my GoPro to see how far into a concrete pour I could capture. I had it set up for every ten seconds a photo was taken and it roughly covered three hours plus into the pour. I was hoping to at least cover one of the slabs being poured. Note to self, one battery, three hours. Attach the battery backpack next time. Thanks for watching. Music: James Brown, Grunts

I created Olive Tree Tunisia in December 2013 after a trip to Tunisia turned my world upside down. Shocked by the level of poverty and injustice in this beautiful country I knew I had to raise awareness of the plight of ordinary people. I know my limits - I cannot change the whole of Tunisia, but I CAN make life better for one family. Hence my fundraising drive to build a house. I recently went out to catch up on progress and made this video to show to the people back home who have generously helped, along with those who haven't yet!! Please see http://www.gofundme.com/Olive-Tree-Tunisia for more details.

              • Nicks on the Wall | A Habitat For Humanity Story

                08:14

                from Pennylane Productions / Added

Produced by Pennylane Visuals http://plvisuals.com When we first met with Habitat for Humanity, we wanted to create a film that would touch people's emotions and also explain what HFH is all about. What better way then to follow a day in the life of an actual family going through the process.  "Nicks on the Wall" is a story film about Elizabeth and Brian's journey to capture the American dream of owning a home. We spent an entire Saturday with them as they explained their experience and witnessed Brian building his own house while Elizabeth took care of their 5 children, including a new born. There are many special moments in this film, but what struck us the most was when Elizabeth spoke about her grandmother putting Nicks on the Wall like many mothers do while their children grow up. Because of this special organization Elizabeth will now be able to do the same. [When conceptualizing this story, we broke into the following three acts : ACT I : The family learns about Habitat for Humanity and gets the lucky call ACT II : The journey of building a new home ACT II : How life will change from this point on For more information about this local chapter, visit www.habitatsuffolk.org  or Visit the the main site www.habitat.org FILM GEAR - Canon C100 and 5Dmk2's - Glidecam HD4000 - Cinevate Slider - Shure VP89m Shotgun - Rode VideoMic Pro

Modelled the house, then ripped it to shreds and filmed that backwards. Was my contribution to a short film about a magician.
