My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people. Dubai may be home to the world’s most outrageous skyline but Dubai’s desert dunes and historical creek are where you’ll find its soul. A special thank you to Dubai Film for making this project possible and for providing the extraordinary access which enabled me to realise this story. If you want to see more... An extended version of the airport baggage scene, from plane arrival to luggage cart in 4K here: http://youtu.be/m8n2o3Qx504?t=29s And also the creek scene in full, the original of this is 13500px (13.5K) across however in 4k here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAtzRAIpD30 Sound Design: Slava Pogorelsky Website: http://www.slavapogorelsky.com/ Facebook: facebook.com/slavapogorelsky Rob Whitworth Website: www.robwhitworth.co.uk/ Facebook: facebook.com/RobWhitworthPhotography Instagram: instagram.com/robwhitworthphotography

Over the past few years I’ve collected a lot of time lapse and loved sharing it with you through my films “The Unseen Sea” and “Adrift”. “A Time Lapse Collection” is a medley of some of my favorite shots that didn’t make their way into either film. All of the footage was gathered on countless excursions into the Marin Headlands, the Berkeley Hills and a more recent trip to Dubai. While my two previous films focused more on the interaction of the fog, “A Time Lapse Collection” includes fast paced urban footage from San Francisco and Dubai. Lastly, I wanted to share some of the beautiful sunsets I’d captured, lighting up clouds in a vivid explosion of color. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did while shooting. My goal was simply to explore and look for interesting unique sceneries around the UAE, and capture it's beauty with time-lapse photography. Winter season plays a big part of my journey, as it's the best time to chase visible fluffy clouds with a true blue sky that only exist to the human eye at this time of the year. I took around 300,000 images and traveled some 4000kms going around the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. I ended up going more than once on few locations which mostly I searched the coordinates online. There's some tiny little setbacks like wrong coordinates, clouds disappearance, being turned down to take photos (after a 2 hour drive), miscalculated driving time, sets of glowing eyes in the mountain, some wild animal noise in the dark (well it's not really a hindrance, but it is abit alarming) and few unnecessary technical issues, which is typically part of trying out and learning something new :) The whole trip was very exhausting and time consuming, but it's all worth it in the end. I've seen so many beautiful places here in the UAE, plus I enjoyed all the long drives as well as being close to nature and far away from city for awhile. I'm hoping to find more time and discover new places and capture it again on video :) A big thanks to Ryan Scully, a music composer based in New York for taking the time producing the original score. http://soundcloud.com/prscully20 Gears: Canon 7D Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS USM lens Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly (http://dynamicperception.com) I can never do time-lapse without this :) Aluratek Universal 12V battery Manfrotto 055CX Pro3 tripod legs Some off-the-shelf LED flood lights For more info & map locations: http://artlifeflip.net Follow Facebook: http://facebook.com/artlifeflip

Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" choreographed with the record-setting Dubai Fountain in the UAE, filmed with 5 high-definition video cameras. The Dubai Fountain is a record-setting choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, at the center of the Downtown Dubai development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was designed by WET Design, the California-based company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors, it is 275 m (902 ft) long and shoots water 150 m (490 ft) into the air (equivalent to a 50-story building), accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. It was built at a cost of AED 800 million (USD 218 million) and attracts thousands of tourists on a daily basis. Shot by: George Handley, Ines Gomez and Mickey Mayer Edited by: Mickey Mayer
