**This is not a trailer ** I'm currently directing Josh Kerr's new signature film (currently untitled) due out early next year by RUSTY. We have been filming a lot and just before heading to Australia there was a little run of swell coinciding with great lighting and clean conditions. We shot four days around home during sunset. This short film is comprised of leftover clips during those four days. Shot by Gavin Heffernan / www.SunchaserPictures.com. Music: HEAT by Elliot Goldenthal. For pics, news, and tips - LIKE our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SunchaserPicturesPage Or check out the album of the best Sunchaser Timelapses right here: https://vimeo.com/album/189653. Looking to beef up my Los Angeles timelapses, I rented a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II Lens from www.BorrowLenses.com and spent September 4th-11th shooting in a series of epic vantage points with two Canon 6Ds. The light of the latest "Supermoon" provided incredible extra definition in the darks of the city panoramas, while also giving some great separation to the skyscrapers. Since we're only 452 days away from the 20th anniversary of one my favorite movies HEAT, I set it to one of the soundtrack songs, an incredible piece of music by Elliot Goldenthal. The cityscapes of HEAT inspired me to make movies long ago, so it was a special treat looking down on LA from some similar angles to the classic Michael Mann film. I finished the edit with a few city captures from previous shoots and here's the result! Motion control shots www.DynamicPerception.com Stage Zero and others using 5K QT Panning. Find me on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/andrewjulianb Check out my latest film The Quiet City: Winter in Paris. https://vimeo.com/62959319 Have you ever wanted to visit Big Sur? Yes or no, take my advice and GO! Call in sick or do whatever you need to do and go; you will not be sorry. I have been dreaming of exploring Big Sur for years now and finally did it! My wife and I packed our car and drove with no plans other than to end up in Big Sur. Driving along the Pacific Coast Highway is an incredible experience and being able to really take our time and explore was easily the best start to a new year I've ever had. Trying to bring the Spirit of California's central coast into this film has been difficult. I've tried my best, but pictures just can't do it justice. No camera can perfectly capture the raw power and beauty of the Pacific Ocean or the feeling of standing near the ledge of a high cliff while the sun sets. I used my Blackmagic Cinema Camera for this film and the color and latitude that shooting in raw provides still amazes me. The flexibility that uncompressed raw gives you in post production makes the 1 Terabyte per 2 hours of footage data rate worth it. I also can't wait to use the new firmware that's been announced! Many more great options to expand the capabilities and improve the workflow. It definitely would have made this shoot a bit easier. P.S. If you can, watch this film with good speakers and turn it up! Be careful though, it gets much louder towards the end. Monterey California, August 2010: The Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid made its driving debut on a closed road in Monterey California, just days prior to its appearance at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. After being shipped over from Germany by plane, engineers handed the keys of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid to Porsche AG Design Chief Michael Mauer. The car drove under its own power which comes from the mid mounted 3.4 liter V8 out of the RS Spyder as well as an all electric mode which powers just the front wheels.
