The Oregon Ducks take on the Cal Poly Mustangs in Novato California in an important early season match up in the MCLA. The Ducks took down Cal Poly twice last season and Cal Poly is looking for revenge. Cal Poly’s high powered attackmen Schmieid, Herberer and Graupman dominate Poly’s offense. Oregon leads early and the game is tied several times in the second half before Cal Poly pulls out a victory.

Interview with Science Café presenters and web developers/designers Michael J. Newman and Scott Hutchinson. As seen on Boing Boing! http://boingboing.net/2012/03/14/library-staircase-delightfully.html Kennedy Library’s grand staircase was transformed into a live game board using wire, cans and balloons as part of the Cal Poly Science Café series. To play the game, we aimed and threw tennis balls at the cans, which acted as live switches. A digital scoreboard tracked the team’s cans as they were knocked over; it was shared on displays throughout the library and on participants’ mobile devices. South Bay Video Productions, http://www.digitalwestvideo.com/, the video production company that we started when we first opened for business way back in 1981, produced an hour-long multi-camera, multi-day, multi-venue video for a local sports media company in 1988. We used two motorcycle camera rigs, one convertible and two ground units while I directed operations and shot aerial footage from a helicopter. This is an excerpt from that project, showing part of two of the three featured events. Unfortunately, the video master is not available - this excerpt was from a very poor VHS copy. Oh well!

PROJECT: Studio 400 Book Show Installation 2011-12 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo DESCRIPTION: "White" was a gallery installation produced by the 20 students of Studio 400, a fifth-year architectural design studio at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. The installation, which served to present each of the student's research books, was designed, developed, fabricated, and installed by the studio in a collaborative effort. The students developed the design over a period of about a month, with fabrication and installation occurring over a five day period. 80,000 square feet of plastic sheeting was sliced, loomed, woven, stapled, taped and tied to provide a climbable and malleable surface in the 4,500 square foot gallery. "White" supported a variety of interactive experiences above and below this dynamic surface, opening and exploring the relationships between book, user, material, space, and collective group.
