It's not often we find a musical gem as shiny as Montreal folk rock quartet Adam & The Amethysts - so we're pretty ecstatic that there's four of them so there's plenty of fun to go around. We recently caught up with the four-piece of folk at The Dakota Tavern - Check out "Prophecy" and "I'm A Medium" off their latest effort Flickering Flashlight; you won't be disappointed. Hit them up over at their website for more folking good fun. Yes... we went there. http://www.adamandtheamethysts.com

In the northern Yukon lies a frigid, seldom-visited range of spires, spindles and sheer faces--the Tombstones. With a grant from the Hans Saari fund, the Backcountry Magazine team explored this remote range for two weeks last April, finding beauty, powder and extreme cold. See the entire story, "Stone Cold" in the December issue of Backcountry Magazine, and check out the video for more images of these striking peaks.

This is my second timelapse with photos. Everything was shot in the month of November 2011 in Sherbrooke and the region around the city; the Eastern Townships, Quebec. I used 2 shots from my previous video because in the past month I learnt a lot about after effects and the 2 shots looked so better with the new adjustments I made that I could not resist to throw them in this video. The song is Tracy - Mogwai ( Kid Loco remix). Everything was shot with a canon t3i or 600d.

Allison Crowe performs a traditional song of the season, "In the Bleak Midwinter". A live-in-the-studio recording of this song is on Allison Crowe's very popular "Tidings" CD/album ~ an emerging classic. http://music.allisoncrowe.com/track/in-the-bleak-midwinter (The television special performance of this song has been online for years, but, I believe, this is the first look at the live-in-the-studio recording filmed by Alex Postowoi and crew, and Larry Anschell recording the audio. The file size is fairly small, so, it will likely sound more clear than it looks, until I can get a copy of the master DVD converted to a web format.) In the Bleak Midwinter Words: Christina G. Rossetti, 1830-1894 Music: Gustav Holst, 1874-1934 Tune: CRANHAM, Meter: Irr. Arranged and performed by Allison Crowe In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone; snow had fallen, snow on snow, in the bleak midwinter, long ago. Heaven cannot hold Him, nor the earth sustain; Heaven and earth shall welcome Him when he comes to reign. In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed for the Lord Incarnate, Jesus Christ. Angels and archangels sang their praises there, cherubim and seraphim gathered in the air; but his Mother Mary, in her maiden bliss, worshiped the Beloved only with a kiss. What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb; if I were a Wise One, I would do my part; yet what I can I give him: give my heart yet what I can I give him: give my heart. Audio engineer/producer: Larry Anschell. Filming directed and produced by Alex Postowoi. Cameras: Karen Duthie, Randy Rotheisler. Editor: Shirley Claydon. Interviewer: Steven Rosenberg.
