1. Linda + Mike | From California to Toronto | Wedding Highlights

When we first skyped with Linda and Mike back in January it was freezing cold here, but it was just another balmy day for them at their home in sunny Los Angeles. It was during that initial conversation that they divulged a secret to us and asked us if we could help them. We were intrigued and of course excited. Linda and Mike were planning their upcoming wedding celebration in Toronto, which would happen in a few months’ time, they were flying up from California to their hometown in order to profess their love to each other in front of family and friends. What almost everyone present that June day didn’t know was that Linda and Mike were actually already married. The summer before they had eloped, drove up the California coast and were wed on the beach with less than a handful of guests. It was really important to Linda and Mike that the handheld footage captured by their friend during that first ceremony be incorporated into their feature film that we would be producing from their wedding footage here in Toronto. They said that if we didn’t think it fit not to worry, but if they could possibly have just one wedding film that encompassed both weddings that would truly be their perfect wedding film. When we watched the shaky, often under-exposed footage from that day we immediately got goosebumps. It felt so real, raw and organic. It took you back to that place and time and it really made us feel like we had been there on the beach with them that day. It also fit so perfectly with the footage that we shot almost a year later. This highlight film is one of my very favourite pieces we’ve ever created because to me it really does meld together two events into one story. It is the wedding story of Linda and Mike. Two warm and wonderful people who said we do twice to each other, in two separate countries, during two ceremonies that couldn’t be any more different from each other. Yet, one constant remains and that is their love and promises to each other. Music: 24 FPS by The Candlepark Stars, licensed through Song Freedom. • Diana + Kevin | Same Day Edit | Mississauga

      from Love Madly / Added

Diana and Kevin tied the knot yesterday on a completely gorgeous, sun-shiney, summer day! These two were simply amazing to work with and be around. Their photo session took place at Adamson Estate on the Lakeshore and even in the extreme heat they rocked it and we captured some incredible imagery. I can’t wait to blog their photos, for now we’d love to share their Same Day Edit from last night so they can re-live their magical day before heading off to Aruba tomorrow! We just loved what the priest had to say during the service and how he made it so personal. We opted to use an instrumental piece of music this time to really enhance what he was saying and truly feel this captures and re-tells their wedding story perfectly. Enjoy your honeymoon and we’ll see you both soon! Music: Mending by Marie Hines licensed from the Music Bed check out our new site at lovemadly.ca or like us on facebook facebook.com/lovemadly

      • Tara + Matt | Wedding Highlights | Uxbridge

When Tara and Matt first met with us last October and told us that they were planning an outdoor wedding on their property in Uxbridge we immediately thought two things 1. it all sounds fantastic, to have everything outside, especially on your own property and 2. but, what if it rains? Of course anytime one plans an event outside you always take that chance, but mother nature was definitely on their side and the sun shone brightly for Tara and Matt's wedding story. I can't even imagine all the hours Tara spent on planning out every detail of their big day. Every time we chatted by email or talked on the phone she had come up with another idea or had seen another bit of inspiration somewhere and was going to tie into their day. I was so excited to hear all about the props she had acquired as they would bring some vintage feel to the overall decor. Seeing it all unfold on the day was really quite magical. Not only all of the details, but the way their wedding party helped on the day from setting up chairs, tables, bales of hay, little jars on honey, the rocks for guests to write messages on to fresh pink lemonade and the arbour her mom and family members decorated in the morning. Everything was perfect! We planned for their reveal to happen on one of their favourite hiking trails just a few minutes from their home. We knew this was a place that they often enjoyed together,so why not have this special first look happen in the same location? The late afternoon ceremony in their back yard was followed by dinner and dancing under a huge white tent that was elegantly decorated with black and white accents. • Debbie + Cormac | From Dublin with Love

            03:27

            from Love Madly / Added

Ahhh, Debbie and Cormac! Just saying their names puts a huge grin on my face. We first met via telephone late last summer. Debbie had found us online and called me from Ireland to tell us all about the destination wedding she was planning for April 21st. She had met and fell in love with Cormac in Toronto when he was here working for a short time and they were now planning to return to her hometown to be married. I remember how excited Debbie sounded when she called, okay most brides are excited when they are planning their wedding, but she was exceptionally so. When we met with them just a couple of months ago in person we could see the fireworks between them firsthand. Their connection was definitely something special. Their love was evident. It made us feel good when Cormac left the table for a minute and Debbie leaned over to us and said “you’re seeing the real Cormac, he’s usually pretty reserved when he meets people for the first time, but he must really be comfortable with you guys.” We talked for a couple of hours and left feeling like good friends. When Saturday arrived Brian was up at 4 am to capture the sunrise as it lit up the Toronto Skyline. We knew that incorporating elements of the city into their wedding film would be especially important to Debbie as Ireland would now be her new home and she would no doubt miss this ‘home’ and her family and friends who live here. Their entire day was ahhh-mazing. All of the hours of hard work that Debbie spent on the planning and the numerous long distance calls, skype chats and emails were certainly worth it! We know these two are in NYC right now waiting to board the cruise liner and begin their honeymoon – we hope they can find some high speed internet and enjoy their highlights before they leave. Bon voyage friends…. hope to see you again soon! from Love Madly / Added

Two years ago we received this email from Jennifer. ”I have seen a SDE video of yours, through a friend on facebook, and fell in love with your work. I’ve always told my boyfriend, that when we get engaged/married, I wanted to inquire with you. My boyfriend and I just got engaged and the first thing I thought of was to contact you, and see how much of an investment it would be to have you as our videographer? What kind of packages do you have? Do you have packages for both photography and videography? We do not have a set date yet, but should have it soon (hoping by the end of this week). We have narrowed it down to 3 different times… either Sept/Oct of 2011 or April 14, 2012.” Low and behold after spending 2 years getting to know Jen and Shawn and becoming friends, their big day finally arrived, and indeed it was to be April 14, 2012. The day was perfect! The forecast leading up to Saturday was grim, but at 7 am Saturday morning I received a text from Jen that said “I prayed so hard for no rain” and attached to the text was a screen shot of the weather network’s hourly forecast showing clouds but no rain. On my drive to see Shawn at his home in Mississauga I noticed how beautiful the sunrise was – I just knew that their day was going to be everything these two had hoped for. We had a great time with their family and wedding party – such a relaxed and fun group of people. Of course we were ecstatic to learn that their wedding colours were yellow and grey – perfectly matched to our new Love Madly branding. (Jen even texted me when we launched our new website in January to say “those are our wedding colours”). I love that she has always been so excited about our work and that the anticipation that has been building over the past two years, while her and Shawn waited for their very own SDE, was in fact everything they had imagined it to be. A separate blog post of photos from their wedding story will come soon, but for now we’d like to share this short film so they can re-live their big day over and over again! • Monica + Jordan | Wedding Highlights | Hamilton

                from Love Madly / Added

When you know you just know. This simple phrase has never been more fitting than it is for Monica and Jordan. Already together for 15 years, these teenage sweethearts finally said I Do on March 24th. Their day was completely perfect. Outside it was overcast and rainy, chilly and damp, but when I walked into the kitchen of Monica’s parent’s home, where she was having her make up done, one of the first things I heard her say was “I don’t even care if it’s raining this is still going to be the best day” – and it was. Every detail of their wedding was chosen with such purpose or created by Monica herself as a reflection of who they are as a couple. Her creative side definitely flourished and her personality could be seen in so many touches throughout the day. Her dress was stunning. I love that she wore the same shoes her mom had worn on her wedding day. I love the chalkboard signs that her adorable nieces carried down the isle. I love that Jordan wrote I {heart} Mon on the soles of his shoes. Their photo location was an abandoned greenhouse about 3 minutes from the church. It made for the most unusual, yet beautiful, backdrop for their wedding photos. We had the privilege of shooting alongside Jay Perry, a long time friend of Monica and Jordan’s and an incredible local photographer. I think the highlight of their day had to be the live performance of Mon’s dad and brothers for their first dance. I could go on and on about these two and their wedding story, but I think their highlights will do a much better job than anything else I could write. I’ve known Mon for a few years now and I know how happy she is to finally be married to her long time love. We wish them so much joy and happiness. They are proof that when you know you just know. • Andrea + Brandon | Ancaster Old Mill | Same Day Edit

                  02:50

                  from Love Madly / Added

On Saturday, February 18, 2012 Andrea and Brandon’s wedding story unfolded and we were there to capture every detail, every moment, every mini-story of the day. The weather was perfect. The snow fell lightly in the morning, just enough to have to get out the shovels and clear the sidewalks and just wet enough that it made the best snowballs – the icy ones – the ones best for playing hockey with. The guys met at Brandon’s parents for a huge breakfast made by Mrs. A. The girls headed off to the salon to begin their morning of hair and make up. We planned a 3 pm reveal so Andrea and Brandon could see each other briefly just before their actual ceremony. With winter weddings, when daylight fades so quickly, it’s so nice to have a few minutes with just the bride and groom in the soft afternoon light. At exactly 3:15 it began to snow and it literally lasted only 2 minutes, but the timing was perfect. Their fireside ceremony upstairs in the old mill was beautiful and their personal vows were perfectly them. We managed to have about an hour in between the ceremony and reception and while Brian and I were capturing moments with their family and bridal party Matt was busy editing their Same Day Edit. Our inaugural Love Madly SDE showed about 9 pm and was enjoyed by everyone. Be sure to check out our blog for a photo sneak peek. • Marta + Brock | Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog

                    03:54

                    from Love Madly / Added

Yesterday we were honoured to capture and be a part of Marta and Brock's wedding story. This was a day I had waited 15 months for and knew from our very first meeting that their celebration would be filled (infact, overflowing) with personal touches and details that were important to them. With just 78 guests in attendance each and every one that was there was someone very significant in their lives. The venue they chose was EastDell Estates Winery and the way they described the intimacy of the location we all knew it would fit their personalities perfectly - and it did! The backstory ~ for those who haven't been following our blog since before Marta and Brock's engagement session I'll just say that it started at Woof Stock in Toronto. The four of them (yes, their Puggles Henry and Buf came too) met me there and then we went to High Park for a picnic. The boys, as Marta and Brock refer to them, are adorable and such a huge part of their lives and of their wedding story. I couldn't imagine their wedding day without them there. Marta and Brock are fitness and health fanatics - they produce weekly episodes for many viewers on Fitfortwo.tv. It was important to them to ensure that many of the elements of their day were organic, locally sourced and environmentally friendly. The story ~ Marta and Brock both knew they had to go for a run on the morning of their wedding day. Staying in two nearby hotels in St. Catharines they each went out separately at sunrise to run. Marta ran in a local park and Brock took to the service road. Around noon the rain started to fall ever so lightly. We were already at the vineyard checking out the cabin and outdoor ceremony location. The rains would get heavier at times and then seem to almost stop before starting again. Brock asked me what we thought would be best - to move the ceremony indoors or continue with the outdoor grove location? I knew that they had envisioned their outdoor wedding with sunshine, but most of their guests had umbrellas and even in the rain it would be beautiful, so we continued with plan A. The rains fell, their best man Rob stood behind Marta the entire time holding an umbrella over her and we did our best to keep our cameras dry and lenses free of rain drops. The reading "Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog" was so completely perfect - just like so many other details that were thought out and put into place. Their personalized vows made me teary. Their entire wedding day story is beyond amazing. I could literally write paragraphs here... but their SDE and photos will do a much better job so please enjoy! ....... The music: About a month ago we first listened to a song by Holley Maher, an artist from New Jersey, now living and recording in Nashville. Immediately we fell in love with her voice. When we found a small excerpt from her song Always Be I knew instantly that it would be the perfect song for Marta and Brock's SDE. I contacted Holley directly and was sad to find out that the song hadn't been recorded yet. She was planning on recording it in the coming weeks though as she was finalizing her debut album. I explained to her that we had this amazing couple and told her all about them and their wedding story and she said she'd do her best to get us a copy of the song for Oct. 2nd. On Oct. 1st at 1 pm the song arrived in our inbox. We were ecstatic. We can't thank Holley enough for doing this for us - it speaks volumes to her personality and we hope you'll all have a listen to her music. Holley, we adore you and thank you with all our hearts - this SDE would not have been what it is without your amazing song. http://www.holleymaher.com visit our new site http://lovemadly.ca

I don't even know where to begin when starting to share the story of Leah and Lorraine except to say that we were completely honoured to meet these incredible women and capture their wedding story. We first met via email over a year ago and a few weeks later we met for tea in Malibu, California. They drove up from their home in San Diego to chat with us about their upcoming destination wedding. We became instant friends! Over the next 12 months we met via Skype to keep up to date on their wedding planning. They had already done a lot of research in order to choose the perfect wedding location and fell completely in love with Juniper Hill Inn in Vermont. Yes, it was on the opposite side of the country! They wanted something quaint, beautiful and somewhat rustic. The Inn, located in Windsor, Vermont, was absolutely perfect! More that 50 guests came to celebrate with them from all across the country. Their family and friends treated Brian and I like family from the moment we arrived at the Welcome BBQ on Friday evening. We loved their personalized vows, all the little details that they had worked on themselves to add touches of their personalities and their beloved dogs to their special day, the quiet whispers between them and how their father-daughter dance turned into a big circle of immediate family members from both sides all joined together on the outdoor patio. There were so many amazing moments to capture. The Inn sits atop a mountain with the most breathtaking views. It was simply impossible to fit every amazing moment of their story into a 4 minute hightlight, but we think this piece really sums it up perfectly! Leah and Lorraine, we wish you so much love and a lifetime of happiness as Mrs. and Mrs. **Special thanks to Joelle of East Hill Events and Robert Dean, owner of Juniper Hill Inn, everything was fabulous and your dedication to perfection was evident in every single detail!
