Here is a behind the scenes look of my crew filming in an old fashion candy factory. Most people think pieces like this are the result of one guy with a camera showing up to capture actors who fake the whole scenario. Although that is the case some of the time, videos like this one capture something very authentic. This video shows real artisans making candy the old fashioned way. It takes a team of professionals to create great work, whether it be candy making or storytelling. I am very lucky to have amazing people around me to help tell the stories of the interesting people we get to meet. I hope you enjoy a glimpse into what my team and I do. Big thanks to my crew and everyone at www.HammondsCandies.com for the help! In my opinion, hand made candy is by far the best candy out there. Sure, automation might simplify the process, but the hands-on approach that Hammonds believes in, really raises the bar. As the video shows, the workers are 100% hands-on in the making of each piece of candy produced. The cook of each batch sees the process through from start to finish. If you want to see this in person, you can visit Hammonds Candy factory in Denver. They offer free tours several times a day and sweeten the experience by giving free candy away at the end. The tour not only provides an insiders look into the candy making process, it also schools you on the history of the company (which is really interesting). At Hammonds, the candy is fantastic and the people are super friendly. You really should check them out! Big thanks to my crew and everyone at www.HammondsCandies.com for the help on this one. As we approach the Winter Solstice it is time again to embrace the change of Fall into Winter. While in the darkest days and for some of us the coldest, we join with family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate the holidays that are warmest to our hearts as we promote peace, love, understanding, and good will to all. Somewhere between the North Pole and Nome, Alaska, is a place where peppermint leaves are imported from the Seattle area and are properly processed to produce the most favored of candy canes, the "Polaroida". For many decades the specific location, recipe, and producers have remained a closely guarded secret. However, in my many travels, I stumbled upon this glorious place and was able to capture some of the sights. As to protect the innocent folks that live and work there, I can only show you what is seen in this video.
