Great weekend paddling the Dart Loop, Spanish Fly style. Shame about some real low levels so the upper section wasn't running, but still made a good weekend Music: Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (That Thing) Filmed on: GoPro Hero 4 Slver & Nikon D3100

Join the adventure in Lower Glenelg Nation Park as we, Melbourne Young Hikers tried the new expedition on the river. We started at Pritchards campsite in south-west Victoria and finished at Dry creek on the border of Victoria and South Australia. 420 kilometres south west of Melbourne is where we started our 2 day-canoeing trip. 3 canoes and 1 kayak for 7 explorers. 30.9 kilometres is how far we didn't use our hiker legs. This Video is my first proper attempt on GoPro shooting and editing. Music Dexter Britain "Time To Run Finale" http://dexterbritain.co.uk

Our first trip out with the new canoes we headed for the mangroves near Al Khor. The mud splashed trail goes alongside the mangrove canals for an easy launch. The low tide made it fun on the sandbanks, and Abi sitting on the back made it even more fun! In the summer of 2014 I took on a project to build my own camper van from scratch. This is my attempt to affordably live and train in Europe leading up to the Rio Olympics. With the help of Adam Williams and hundreds of backers on my crowd funding site, vanstarter.com, I was able to realize this plan. This is a video showing the interior build and what I was able to do with the crowd funding raised. I am eternally grateful for the incredible generosity and support that has poured out since the inception of my project. I hope you will continue to follow my journey in my first manifested design project for the years to come. • Outrigger Canoe Paddling In the Colorado River/Lake Powell

On August 18, 2014, after paddling our OC1’s 6-1/2 hours (28 miles) on the northern reaches of Lake Powell located in Utah, we finally found a spot amongst the sandstone cliffs suitable for setting up camp. Unfortunately, our only camp option was located on an exposed point jutting into the lake. Soon after putting ashore and starting to set up camp, we observed a wind gust approaching us that was actually driving the surface of the lake towards us. The gust was so fierce that it pushed our beached canoes along the sand like sleds. Our one-man tents turned into flying wings. - See more at: http://outriggerzone.com/news/paddle-the-colorado/

I lived for years in a high mountain lake town in Southern California, where my favorite thing to do in the morning was hit the water on my Peinert Dolphin (www.peinert.com/dolphin.html). I few years back I moved onto my ocean boat, where there is no flat water to be found and heading backwards into the swell frankly just doesn't work (can't stinking surf a shell, either). The outrigger canoe rules supreme in the open ocean, but being about the size and weight of a Viking Berserker, there aren't any OC-1 hulls out there that I won't shove under the water. What's a giant to do? DESIGN MY OWN. So I did. Buoyant at the bow for riding over the prevailing swell off the Ventura coast, and a design water line (DWL) made for me and a lot of weekend gear at the Channel Islands National Park - just a few dozen miles to the west.
