The Transatlantic Race 2015 is a 2,800-mile race from Newport, R.I., to The Lizard on the southwestern corner of England. This is the 30th transatlantic race since three New York Yacht Club members sponsored the first one in 1866. A fleet of 38 boats—ranging in size from 40 to 140 feet and in age from 100 years to 10 months—will depart from Newport in one of three different starts (June 28, July 1 and July 5). Start 1 includes the slowest boats in the fleet and the race's true Corinthian sailors. They will spend two weeks or more crossing the Atlantic. For more information, visit the race's website: http://transatlantic race.com

Pam and Ren Parziale launched Sycamore Pottery in 1971 where they bought land, planted 4,000 trees, raised two children and grew a pottery business from what Pam calls – a fantasy. Their first commission was for a Shepherdstown historical group that wanted 500 hand-thrown pots for a fundraiser. That then led to work with the National Park Service and from their pottery grew and won awards. Every pot and plate is made the old fashioned way on the potter's wheel. In 2005, Gov. Joe Manchin awarded Pam with the Distinguished Arts Award at the Governor's Arts Awards ceremony for her service as an artist, administrator and advocate of the arts. Learn more about Sycamore Pottery at https://www.facebook.com/SycamorePottery. Music is from the album “Wood and Wire” by composer Eric Schopmeyer. Listen to more of Eric's compositions at http://ericschopmeyer.bandcamp.com/album/wood-and-wire. Onne talks about the video gear he uses in the air and on the water to shoot boats. Obviously a tripod is out of the question when flying or on the deck of a bouncy chase boat. Onne explains how he uses the Canon XF300, the EasyRIg and Kenyon KS-8x8 to get that illusive steady clip!
