The narrative is inspired by stories from Darwin's journals written during his early voyages to the uncharted islands of Tiera del Fuego and the environment of the film explores themes of Arcadia, as brought to life by the paintings of Gauguin and Rousseau. The film is a dreamlike exploration of the universal quest for an ideal paradise that is only found through an open mind and a taste for adventure. The mythical Arcadia of this film is more specifically a place of feminine healing and liberation, and the island's inhabitants embody an effortless connection with nature, magic, and the feminine divine that is exactly what our protagonist was in need of finding. On the island, she is liberated from the stiff, and proper way that was expected from her in the modern, conformist society from whence she came. Arcadia has represented a sort of Eden to so many great artists and writers throughout history where free thought, peace, and sensual pleasure are the preferred currency. The film poses the question If you actually got to this mythical place would you ever want to leave? or If you were in Arcadia, would the human tendency for adventure lure you away? Is the adventure, the journey, the search for Arcadia, in fact what is being sought?

Dir: Alex Ross Perry Written by: Alex Ross Perry & Carlen Altman Theatrical Distribution: Artists Public Domain/Cinema Conservancy Distributed by: Factory25 The Color Wheel is the story of JR (Carlen Altman), an increasingly transient aspiring news-anchor, as she forces her disappointing younger brother Colin (Alex Ross Perry) to embark on a road trip to move her belongings out of her professor-turned-lover’s apartment (Bob Byington). Traveling through fog-shrouded highways of New England, uncomfortably running into old school-mates, revisiting shared familial history from which they have long since diverged, chaos and calamity are not far behind their beat up Honda Accord. It can only be a matter of time before JR and Colin arrive at the strangest and most unsettling of resolutions and put to rest their decades of animosity, half-baked sibling rivalry and endless bickering, in his comedic symphony of disappointment and forgiveness.

WMIG and Samantha Pleet have been toiling long and hard to finish up the new lookbook for the Samantha Pleet Holiday Collection and it is finally here! Pleet TV, in all it’s disheveled glory, is our take on a clothing line’s video lookbook. Part TV Party, part Wayne’s World, and part Muppet Show; we smashed all of these glorious things together to create a rough cut fly by the seat of your pants tv show style lookbook that presents Samantha’s new holiday collection in a hilariously unscripted public access cable kind of setting. We built the set in an abandoned warehouse, set up one 16mm camera and 2 HD video cameras then unleashed the Pleet family to drink champagne, dance, sing, tap dance, and make us laugh all while wearing the charming wares of Samantha Pleet. With cameos from a host of familiar faces like the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Carlen Altman, and Au Revoir Simone it’s quite a unique snapshot of Samantha Pleet and all her amazing friends. Viva la PLEET TV!!!!
