                On its first tour of South America, Battery Dance Company has landed in Belem, Brazil after a great week in Paramaribo, Suriname. A packed schedule of Dancing to Connect workshops and a performance at the spectacular Teatro da Paz, was kicked off with a press event at the Cultural Center Brasil-Estados Unidos. The dancers performed "Inhale", a segment of the new production Perceptual Motion, choreographed by Robin Cantrell.

                      Battery Dance Company of New York staged a Dancing to Connect residency in Singapore in October, 2011 with the generous support of the U.S. Embassy Singapore and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. Three groups of Republic Polytechnic students engaged in Dancing to Connect workshops with BDC teaching artists Carmen Nicole, Mira Cook and Bafana Matea, and their creations are on view as well as "Africa" and "Autobiographica" performed by Battery Dance Company.
