'applied art' for promotor 'ngazzokah' which organises musical events in the delft-area in the netherlands. one of these activities is 'l'heure acoustique/the acoustic hour'; a montly sunday gathering of performers and artists in the rietveld-theatre in delft. the images are mainly reworked photos by french photographer fred forestier. the video 'l'heure acoustique/the acoustic hour' employs the splitscreen technique: one half shows the images and the other presents texts. the first part presents random choosen paragraphs from goethes 'hermann und dorothea'. the second part shows images of lessing's 'fabeln'. a skilled eye could read the words, but the images are mainly used as illustration. the music comes from a performance by members of 'the new clara schumann band' at the rietveld-theatre earlier this year.

The Texas ghost town of Cheapside is saturated with the energy of its former inhabitants. It also reverberates with the rumbling of oil company trucks. A Solution which can be implemented precisely in the language of the 21st century - namely to use MULTIMEDIA FRAMES mounted on monuments, and gravestones at cemeteries. • Richmond's Hollywood Cemetery By John Peters

from Virginia Historical Society Added 84 0 0

One of America's great rural cemeteries, overlooking the falls of the James River, Hollywood provides a final resting place for Richmond's—indeed, Virginia's—political, business, and creative leaders, as well as 18,000 Confederate dead. Since before the Civil War, the elaborate ironwork, stone monuments, mausoleums, and natural setting have memorialized the varied lives of the individuals who have populated Virginia’s capital city. In this lecture based on his new book, Richmond's Hollywood Cemetery, author and photographer John Peters brings these stories to life once more. (Introduction by Paul A. Levengood)
