D4SC's Citizen canvas was 1/7 solutions that was part of the winning showcase for Smart City Plaza at the 2014 Smart City World Congress in Barcelona. At the expo, we interviewed various exhibitors, city officials, technology providers on who they defined what a smart city is and what was the role of people/citizens in a smart city. This short films showcases some key interviews from representatives of smart cities around the world and our reflections on what we heard. We believe there is a huge opportunity in bridging the gap between how stakeholders collaborate with citizens to co-create successful smart city pilots. Our tool Citizen Canvas is an attempt to help bridge that gap. Check out www.citiznecanvas.org

We are a tech startup with a social purpose that involves citizens in making cities and neighbourhoods better, using mobile technologies. Our platform, Changify, brings together people to crowdsource and crowd solve problems, with the aim that these issues become campaigns/projects that can then get crowd-funded by businesses, councils and communities. We are working on a project proposal involving real-time data from cyclists that can be channeled to help improve the road infrastructure - for safety, better routes and road maintenance.
