Kay Wang was a strong-willed grandmother who was reluctantly taken to a StoryCorps booth by her son and granddaughter. Though Kay resisted, she still had stories to tell—from disobeying her mother and rebuffing suitors while growing up in China to late-life adventures as a detective for Bloomingdale’s department store. Kay passed away just weeks after that interview, and her son and granddaughter returned to StoryCorps to remember her gentler side, which she kept to herself. This is the story of Wah Kau Kong from Hawaii, the first American fighter pilot of Chinese descent who lost his life in an air battle over Germany in 1944 during WWII. It details the quest by his best friend to find out the true story of what transpired on that fateful day and his travel to Europe to discover Kong's grave-site in a small German town. This is a story that certainly needs to be told.

Enid and Neil sealed the deal at the beautiful Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, CA. What a perfect fall day! When we pulled up to the Embassy Suites on the River that morning to film Enid and her bridesmaids, it was admittedly a bit foggy and we feared it might even rain! In the time it took us to get our gear up to her floor and start shooting, the fog had practically cleared and the sun began to show! So awesome! We had a lot of fun with Enid, Neil, and their family and friends! From a beautiful tea ceremony to a beautiful traditional ceremony to cocktails, dinner, candy, and Chick-Fil-A to a mini Festival of Lights to an epic dance party!
