http://www.covenant.nsw.edu.au/christian-school/tracy-staples-farewell-and-thank-you-assembly Junior School held a special assembly to say a very special thank you to Tracy Staples. Many parents and even some former staff came along to be part of it. Staff re-wrote and sang an adapation of an ABBA song "Thank you for the music". Students sang "So long farewell" from the Sound of Music. Other students prayed for Mrs Staples. Two students had interviewed staff and students about their memories of Mrs Staples (see below). It was a wonderful, and often teary, farewell for a teacher who has brought her passion for music, her Christian faith and a delightful ability to tell stories, into our school community for 12 years. The assembly finished with Amazing Grace - one of Tracy's all time favourites. Tracy thank you for the music, and so much more!

October 24 was the last day for students to think of a creative way to do a video encouraging others to help blow up the debt at PCA and submit to be entered in a contest to win an iPod Shuffle. Others are welcome to help blow up the debt at PCA! Our school has received a generous pledge for a $50,000 matching grant. If we raise $25,000 by the end of 2014, we will receive the same amount from a donor. The same is true for 2015. The direction and growth momentum of our school is so overwhelmingly positive! With this money, we can eliminate all of our operational debt and start the next school year IN THE BLACK. We wanted to do something fun to kick-start our campaign. Balloons were sent home and a challenge to blow up and pop these in the most creative way possible. If so inclined, a videotape of the person blowing up these balloons and a challenge for family and friends to do the same. The videos could be shared on Facebook or via emailed and challenged others to pop their own balloons. The videos needed to be submitted by October 24 to be eligible to win a contest for the most creative popping method. The winner would receive a new IPod Shuffle! As students, friends, parents, grandparents, and friends of PCA were popping these balloons, donations were requested to help us meet this match challenge. Whether it is $1 or $1,000,000, all of it will help us get PCA the financial stability we need to grow this school and provide the best education possible for our students. You can contribute via the PCA website, www.pcasda.org, or send a check to PCA marked Challenge Grant. 1115 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224
