[read more...] The single WAVES was performed and mixed by Francesco Berta in London, the vocal layers were written and recorded by singer Anne Van Den Hoogen in Amsterdam and the EP was mastered by John Webber at the legendary Air Studios in London. “When I made some people listen to a preview of the track they were surprised, they told me it was beautiful yet different from everything I did before. But on one level, I must never lose touch with my audience. But I must, at some point, stop trying to get everybody to like me, and be true to my musical soul, to what I feel and I have to say. It’s a challenging moment to live as an artist and composer because these days everyone is writing music on his laptop. Music making has become accessible to almost everyone, that’s why it’s important to find what defines you, and chase it”. The official video is directed by Isaac Madge, a writer, director & filmmaker based in West Sussex & London, passionate about low budget filmmaking and telling stories that really make an impact. The video is starring Lucy Elizabeth Anderson and Joe James. “The video is inspired by the true story of a friend of mine” says Francesco “she’s suffering a form of dissociative disorder. When I told Isaac this story he jumped on board straight on, and he did an amazing job portraying that reality. Also the actors are young but terrific and spontaneous, I’m really satisfied by the overall work”. Written, performed and mixed by Francesco Berta Vocals and lyrics by Anne Van Den Hoogen Synth programming by Francesco Berta Mastering by John Webber, Air Studios - London http://francescoberta.com

Second day using the Sony FS7 and wanted to test out shooting in 180FPS. Shot with a Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 85mm/T2.1 Cine Lens Video Settings: Format: SLOG-3 ISO: 2000 Shutter Angle: 180 FPS:180 Graded and edited in Premiere. I used a KODAK 2383 LUT to begin and then did some additional tweaking. Also added a little bit of grain to the footage. Download the original file to really see the full quality. You can see the before and after grading in the photos below.

CinemaScope Anamorphic production with the wonderful Hypergonar Hi Fi Cine Lens - Music : Franz Schubert - Performer : Franco Di Nitto The Hypergonar is THE ORIGINAL cinemascope lens. Invented by the astronomer Henri Chrétien in 1926, this system was first used for the Film "The Robe". The special characteristic anamorphic look (outstanding lens flares, oval bokeh, cinematic texture) which specially this Hypergonar lens provides, makes it the perfect choice as an anamorphic companion for the modern DSLR. The aim of later lens producers was to eliminate some of these characteristics, e.g. by multicoating the lenses to reduce lens flare. This lens creates a much better look than any other anamorphic lens around, including the highly praised Iscorama... Filmcamera Panasonic GH3 The taking lens in combination with the Hypergonar Hi Fi Cine lens is the rare vintage lens Made in the USSR : HELIOS - 44 - 2 Zebra edition I thank my dear friend Mister Jeff Wong for the wonderful (taking-) lens lens Russian Lens HELIOS - 44.
