    • This is Sheffield

      from James Stier Added 2,834 9 0

Sheffield is a city and metropolitan borough of South Yorkshire, England. Its name derives from the River Sheaf, which runs through the city. Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, and partly Derbyshire, the city has grown from its largely industrial roots to encompass a wider economic base. The population of the City of Sheffield is 534,500 and it is one of the eight largest regional English cities that make up England. As such, Sheffield Council commissioned a film to be produced in association with High Storrs School about what the area was like, and how it is seen now. The brief was unique as it required the input from everyone in society, including young people, professional sports persons, world record holders, city planners, artists and people of Sheffield. Principle photography lasted for 7 days, and relied on a small professional crew working alongside a line producer from Pro Consultancy and a small team of students from High Storrs School. The brief was to explore the culture of the city from a young persons point of view, and illustrate the changes that Sheffield has undergone. The focus however was to be on the new, positive side of the steel city while giving all groups equal representation.

Kelsey and Charles are extravagant, beautiful and in-love, their wedding day in Tanzania complimented their love perfectly! Their day and celebrations started at the St. Andrews Anglican church where Kelsey took Charles' breath away as she met him down the aisle and where they said their I-do's. The adoration in Charles' eyes and the excitement in Kelsey's told a whole story on its own. We then got to spend time taking pictures with them closer to the mesmerising Tanzanian beach and sunset. The rest of the night, at the Akemi Revolving Restaurant, was filled with dancing, pure happiness and a 3 meter cake hanging from the roof made by the bride herself! On top of all of this these two took our breath away with their very welcoming hospitality and their excitement for us to be able to share their day with them. It was such a privilege and memorable experience! Kelsey and Charles, may you two always bring so much beauty to the world! May your love be one that never stops growing. This is my second attempt at producing a time lapse video from the roof of the Anglican Cathedral tower. My first suffered from the effects of camera movement. This time, I made sure my camera was off the wobbly roof floor. Although the weather wasn't as good as it was the previous week it still made for interesting viewing. Things to look out for include: - the crane on the left edge - the boat making a handbrake turn - the mist sweeping in - the security staff letting the guests in for the David Gest party at the cathedral

The Secret of Angel Row is a short documentary film on Bromley House Library, a private library that has been running since 1822. Situated at the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, seconds away from Market Square, a door stands open between two shop fronts. Not concealed, but hidden in plain sight. It leads into the Library that is quietly juxtaposed against the consumer culture surrounding it. The documentary aims to uncover the wealth of history, knowledge and tranquility that lies through the doorway; exploring the library and finding out why it is special to the people that use it, in the hope that the audience will recognise the importance of preserving such a unique cultural and historical hidden gems.
