Code for Art Viki Hristova and Agus Jacobi For our project proposal, we have created a theme that involves men and a woman. We have 3 classes (Man, Woman and Gold). The men chase gold and as they get more, they become more powerful, hence bigger. The more gold they have the bigger they get. The woman chases the most powerful man and when she finds the biggest man and they get together, the man loses money so he gets smaller. What makes her jump from one man to the next, depending on which one is the biggest. At the same time, she gets her life sucked out of her so she starts to desaturate. The more men she goes through, the less red she gets. Once a woman becomes white, no man wants her so their speed increases to run away from her.

Simple interaction using openFrameworks on my Macbook Pro. I was thinking about simple creatures, like in a primordial soup that you would want to catch. The next step would be to hoot this up to a different control like a Kinect in order to catch the creatures. I bet they taste delicious with a little butter.

"The Clock" was developed for Code For Art and Creativity and Computation Lab at Parsons for the MFADT program. The headlines are taken from the New York Times via its API, searching for stories about LGBTQ bullying and suicide. Mousing over the A at the bottom reveals methods for being an ally. Developed in C++/openFrameworks with the help of Jeff Crouse, Andy Wallace, and Thom Hines. Check out the process here: http://www.janefriedhoff.com/blog/2011/12/10/the-clock/ And other work on my blog, including explorations of gender/sex/orientation/etc.: http://www.janefriedhoff.com/blog/

This oF project uses two different types of inputs. One is the audio and one is the tilt sensor (SMS) inside the macbook pro. Both the audio and tilt is used to control a remixing circle. When this remixing circle touches other circles situated in the sketch, each different circles make different notes. Looping of notes and timing of when the notes are played can be controlled using audio and the SMS.
