a class project. ------------- ¿A dónde iremos? • Will You Wander?

            from Mike Mytnick Added 4,015 49 21

Song: Time to Wander by Gypsy and the Cat http://www.myspace.com/gypsyandthecat --- This was a personal project made during spring quarter 2011 at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. It was therapeutic really. I had a rough winter break and winter quarter, so as soon as the weather got better and everything started to turn around, I wanted to make something that would capture that feeling. I wanted to use the song "Time to Wander" because as soon as I heard it in the middle of winter, I felt the warmth and comfort of the spring sun [sounds poetic, but you get it]. I typically use my projects as an outlet of expression; and most of the work I did in the winter was to let out some confusion and frustration, but this is the complete opposite of that. This is happy, real, and fun; and that's exactly how I felt this quarter. I have a photo album that coincides with this video on my Flickr, some of which can be viewed along the side of this page or at this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikemytnick/sets/72157626912677050/ I also used over 107GB's of footage to make this project, which I will sadly have to delete one day. HOWEVER. I have compiled the best parts into one long reel which can be viewed if you would like at the link below. The video is long and only accessible through this link, but if you have time to kill or are interested in the raw footage, head over! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55E98GJSkAg] --- On a technical side: This was filmed with a Canon 7D --- Finally, Special thanks to Steven Evans for being my communicator while filming at the Ohio University Aquatics Facility. And a very very vveeeeerrryyy special thanks to all those who were apart of this [and everyone for putting up with me making this a bigger deal than it was] and those not shown who were apart of my spring quarter, it really has been great. OH! And thanks for watching!

This short film represents the video portion of my senior thesis/solo exhibit at The University of Texas at Dallas, containing footage that spans an entire year. "Memories of the Everyday" Lauren Marek documents the everyday through photographs and video, focusing on her intimate relationships with friends and family. Through the record of these unfolding moments, she begins to blur the line between staged event and real experience---echoing the uncertainty and elusiveness of memories themselves. This is a student project and not meant for commercial use. Credit: Ólafur Arnalds – Hægt, kemur ljósið http://olafurarnalds.com/ www.laurenmarek.com www.laurenmarek.tumblr.com laurenmarek@me.com

One photo was taken every minute over a period of 2 days (May 17th-18th). Day 1:" Snow in the Quad", where artificial snow was brought in and a snowboard ramp was built. Day 2: The All Night Relay Benefit for ACS. We set up camp sites and there was some BBQing. (I'm tagged in the corresponding flickr timelapse pictures.) If you download it you can see more detail, like the sprinklers going off, individual people walking, and smoke form the BBQs.

Jerod Wanner - Story/Concept, Director, Executive Producer, Color Correction Chad Mezzera - Director of Photography, Editor, Sound Design Marianne Bach - Producer, Asst. Director of Photography Scott Visk - Original Score, Sound Technician, Folly Micah Bournes- Script, Voice Talent Equipment - Canon 5d Mark II, 70-200mm f2.8, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.2, 24-70mm f2.8 (all canon lenses) The Moody Bible Institute admissions department approached Jerod Wanner in October 2009 about doing some new things with the admissions promotional films. He came up with the idea of making a shorter metaphorical film to intrigue the viewer, and then making a handful of modular pieces to define specific aspects of Moody rather than combining all of it together in a 12 minute long film. This was definitely a long process, but this team really worked well in making this idea a reality for Moody and the prospective student. Along side Jerod was Chad Mezzera, Marianne Bach, and Scott Visk. Each of them had great things to offer and really created something unique. Not only did the Moody Admissions Department step in to help, people from Moody Radio stepped in to give them access to their professional recording equipment for the best sound quality possible. The filming was done over a period of two weekends and was done on all very high quality and professional equipment. The editing was done on Final Cut Pro and color corrected on Color. This film is the beginning of something new, something Moody has never seen before. The hope is to draw students into this amazing institution through this films so that they can be trained and well equipped for God's work in them and through them. May God use this film how it was intended to be used.
