Hamilton Creek located in North Bonneville, WA is a great adventure. We used an abandoned rail bed to access 4 miles up the creek to a steep section where we put on and paddled our way back down to the Columbia River. This video was shot in Dec. 2006. That winter we were all on the hunt for new whitewater, Hamilton was a fun one!

The fate of salmon in the Pacific Northwest is a perennial concern. This video combines rare color-film footage of the great Indian fishery at Celilo Falls on the Columbia River with public radio reports from 1990-91 about the listing of certain salmon populations under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Four radio stories are 1) How the Salmon ESA decision was made, with Merritt Tuttle of NMFS; 2) An interview with Bill Bakke of Oregon Trout, an ESA petitioner; 3) Trying to help migrating salmon at Bonneville Dam, with OSU biologist Alec Maule; and 4) an Indian view of the salmon crisis, with Ted Strong of CRITFC. The silent film footage is courtesy of the Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. The radio reports, and the mashup, were produced by Joe Cone of Oregon Sea Grant.

On March 12th of 2015 we recorded a time lapse of the skyline. We setup the camera and pointed it toward the west coast of Oregon from Woodland, Washington. You can see across the Columbia River valley and to the coastal mountains. Using Dragon Frame Software we captured 1,000 frames (929 were used for the video) at 30 second intervals and the sequence was created at 30 fps. Once the sunsets Venus becomes visible and then also sets. We made an "Epic" soundtrack in Garage Band using loops and synthesizers.

Quiet men are the ones you want to listen to the most. In the time spent with the guys at Troutwater, Johnny was a man of few words but the words he does speak resonate with you for a long time after. "Its ok, I have bear spray" -Johnny Music: Naran- I Am Rich
