I made this video in February of 2015 as part of a project for my advanced field production class, COM 435. I used the JVC HM700, a Sennheiser Lavaliere Microphone, and a Lowel Multimedia Lighting Kit to produce a short news story to be aired on Bradley University's biweekly television program, Midstate Magazine. This video was used for a segment called "About Town" which highlights various local attractions in Peoria, Illinois. Reporter, Taylor Hernet, and I decided to make our way to Wheel Art Pottery Studios to explore what this hidden gem was all about. We were delighted to meet one of the owners, Jacob Grant, who had quite a lot to share and assured us Wheel Art Pottery Studio has something for everyone to enjoy regardless of skill level. TWC Untangled Blog By Andy Benton, Executive Producer, Content Creation Storytelling. It’s a word used quite a bit in communications. When utilized properly at it’s essence, it delivers a connection and an impact that written reports, presentations, or even slick advertisements can’t produce. When Time Warner Cable, a company of 50,000 + employees, wanted to tell the story of how our company recognizes “National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” I knew I would only need one special person who you will meet. Despite explosive growth of information and communication technology, only 5 percent of humanity—the richest 5 percent—reap the benefits and opportunities of the digital revolution. In developing countries, less than 2 percent of the people have access to the internet, compared with 30 percent in developed countries. The world's poor—including 400 million impoverished children living in Asia and the Pacific—remain information have-nots. Education and access to information are the best means to enable young people to escape poverty. Digital Dividends looks at pioneering initiatives in Bangladesh, Cambodia, and India to spread the benefits of information and communication technology to poor children.
