      www.AreaaSanDiegoEvents.com Come join us May 30, Saturday from 8:00am - 2:00pm to help Fujiko's family rebuild her backyard for her children! Be a part of AREAA's efforts in helping Asian families in need. This time we will be helping a Japanese single mother of 2 special-needs children. She is struggling to make ends meet with a small part-time job as a Japanese language teacher. Because her son has autism and her daughter struggles with OCD and anxiety disorder, she is overwhelmed with every day life, and to add to this her ex-husband has just been diagnosed with cancer. Her family are all in Japan, so AREAA wants to reach out and BE the family she needs in times of crisis. For her children to have a safe backyard to freely play in, we will be completely cleaning out the backyard and install new landscaping. We will also replace walled windows with a stronger, safer version, be painting, and change out non-working ceiling fans. One family at a time, it is important to come together to help other Asian families in need and share the warmth every family deserves.

                  Got a nonprofit organization that inspires you, but could use a little marketing inspiration? Ideas are kind of a big deal around here and last year we hatched a really good one when we decided to take on quite the creative challenge: the 24hr. Brand Bash, aka 24 hours of nonstop creativity dedicated to the success of a deserving nonprofit organization! We locked ourselves into the office for 24 straight hours to rebrand a local nonprofit organization doing good for the community. The result? About $50,000 in creative services donated to HOPE for Bereaved, including a website, collateral, video, photography, outdoor and radio advertising. Nominations for the 2015 edition of ABC’s 24hr. Brand Bash are now open at http://www.24hrBrandBash.com and the event is officially on for this May 14. Essentially, the Brand Bash is ABC’s creative way of giving back to the community we love and live in. We invite everyone in Central New York to nominate a deserving nonprofit organization dedicated to public service, we pick the best fit and then we get to it. We start from scratch. Our 24-hour client meets with the ABC team for a discovery session 8 a.m. May 14 and the client returns 8 a.m. May 15. We, however, never leave. From sunup to sunup, we develop concepts and quickly get to work on everything. Last year, HOPE for Bereaved received more than $50,000 worth of marketing services, including a new logo, website, promotional video, collateral, press releases and more in addition to billboard and radio advertising. Phew! The creative part was easy. Staying up 24 hours straight? Not so much. But, we all survived and we’re already stocking up on important creative staples like energy drinks, junk food, that sawdust-looking stuff you sprinkle on the shuffleboard table and Nerf guns. So, get to it, Central New York! Nominate a worthy nonprofit now (deadline is April 28) and watch for the May issue of the Creative Brief, when we’ll announce a winner!
